Without feeling it, Radella and Dominic's marriage is in its third year. Grateful, that's all they can say on their wedding anniversary this time. How could they not? In the past three years, so many things have happened. Especially, at the beginning of the marriage which was the hardest phase for both of them to unite two hearts in a very big difference.
Their marriage happened because of one embarrassing event, where the bride, who is Radella's sister, ran away with her affair the day before their holy promise before God. In the end, it was she who was used as a shield to save her parents' honor from shame.
She could not refuse. Because, she had never refused anything asked by her parents all this time. Even though she had to sacrifice her promise to someone who was struggling to challenge the waves in order to realize one big dream, namely their marriage.
As always, she chose to give in and put aside what would happen in the future when her boyfriend came to collect the promise. Maybe only say sorry for all that happened. But she doesn't know Theo's reaction when they meet each other one day.
Being the cold and slightly haughty Mrs. Dominic Toretto was not what she wanted. All this time, she had been free to make her own rules. She needed to be independent because of the injustice she received from her parents' upbringing.
That's why she decided to leave home and choose to work outside the city so that she could be free to determine the path of life and happiness in her own way.
"I want you to keep letting me work. Don't ask me to be a hostess who only waits for you to come home from work. That's not who I am," she told Dominic in the agreement they made after their marriage.
"Whatever you want, I don't care. Just live your life like you did before we got married. Same goes for me. You can't interfere with my life, and I will do the same," Dominic said, signing the agreement they wrote on a piece of paper with black ink.
"That's good. Then, I can be free to do anything. Tomorrow I have to go back to Atlanta. My leave is over, and I have to abide by the company's rules,"said Hana to her husband.
"Whatever you want. I won't stop you from doing what you like. Tomorrow I also have to attend a meeting of businessmen in Bangkok for a few days. So, we're both busy, right?" said him.
Unbeknownst to them, that night was the longest they had ever talked to each other. At times, they argued and insinuated against each other. But, a moment later, they both laughed at each other's foolishness. Eventually, they got tired and decided to go back to their respective beds to rest.
Morning came, and they were ready with their luggage to be taken to their destination. Everyone thought they were going on a honeymoon, but they weren't. They both parted ways on different roads that would take them to their destination as per the conversation that night.
Without realizing it, it was like something was missing when they parted ways. Their conversation and debate last night seemed to be enough to make both of them believe there was a compatibility in many ways between them.
"Why do I miss him so much?" she said, holding back her anxiety. "What's happening to me? No, I can't have these feelings. Remember Radella, he belongs to Jessica's. You're just a substitute," she continued.
She missed their arguments that sometimes made them laugh at themselves. Both of them realized, there should be no more feelings between them as per their agreement.
So, the two of them lied about their feelings even though it hurt a lot. To get rid of thoughts about Dominic, she chooses to keep herself busy with office activities.
Maybe, when she is in the work environment, she can forget about her husband's shadow. However, when she was in the boarding room alone, the image of her husband's face made she even more tormented by longing.
"Damn it! Why can't I get his face out of my eyes? C'mon Radella! Don't hurt your heart with feelings that will only make you hurt later," she said angrily cursing her stupidity.
That morning, her office turned boisterous due to the arrival of a CEO business partner of the company owner. But not because of the meeting between the handsome CEO and their boss, but because of his confession about his marriage to one of the company's employees. The news quickly spread to Hana's unconcerned ears.
"Crazy! Who's the lucky woman married to that young CEO? Rumor has it, she's one of the employees in our office," said the gossip-monger Nella.
"Who else is the most beautiful employee here? Naomi ..." continued Kimmy glancing at her best friend who was famous for her beauty, but very arrogant.
She glanced at the girl named Naomi who was called by one of her coworkers, Kimmy. Walking haughtily with her head slightly raised, she smiled as if she wanted to show the existence of her beauty. For some reason, everyone liked Naomi's haughty style that looked disgusting in Hana's eyes.
"Ah, if that were true, I would be very happy right now. But, unfortunately, it's not me, Kimmy," she replied smiling.
"Then, who is that woman? It can't be that cold woman, right?" said Kimmy, glancing at Radella who felt uncomfortable about her words.
Naomi and Kimmy, who had disliked her from the start, used it as an opportunity to demean Radella in the eyes of other employees. They seemed proud that they could humiliate her in front of the crowd.
However, she acted casually and did not want to be provoked. However, it didn't last long. Kimmy's words made her decide to teach both of them a lesson.
"How could the CEO marry that cold woman? Her face is very ordinary and does not deserve to accompany that man. Naomi, you better approach the man and make him bend the knee before you. I support,: said Kimmy heating up Naomi who was starting to get provoked.
Radella, who seemed uncomfortable hearing the conversation that dragged her name, immediately approached the gossipers and reprimanded Kimmy. However, she only got insults from them.
Until finally, the women who insulted and harassed her were surprised and frightened when the young CEO came over and caught Radella's body which was about to fall due to Kimmy and Naomi's encouragement.
