"Honey ..."
"You'd better rest and calm down first. Then the two of us will discuss today's events," Dominic said to Radella - his wife.
"But, Dominic. I-"
"Radella. Just do as I ask and get some rest. We won't find a solution if we're still in the heat of the moment. So, understand," he continued.
"Sorry..."
"There's nothing to apologise for. Get some sleep. I'm going out for a while to calm down. When I come back, we'll talk," he said as he approached the edge of the bed and gently kissed his wife's forehead.
"But you didn't get angry and leave me, did you, dear Dominic? I was afraid you would..."
"I'm not that selfish, Radella," he replied, reassuring his troubled wife.
Dominic really did want his wife to rest after what had happened today to the woman he loved. He quickly stepped out, got back into the car and drove off to who knows where. Surely he needed time to cool down. Besides, this matter had already gone viral. And it would also affect his family.
She couldn't understand why Jessica, once known as a warm and pleasant person, had turned into the most selfish woman she knew. Especially after Jessica could not contain her emotions and slapped Radella on the cheek.
Dominic had watched from the beginning as Jessica began to speak harshly and ended up slapping Radella - his wife - in front of everyone. Then she insulted Radella, calling her a woman who had taken someone's husband. In fact, there has been no relationship between him and Jessica since she left on their wedding day.
"Jessica's attitude has gone too far. She dared to slap the woman I love so hard that the corners of her lips are bleeding. But to my great regret, why didn't Radella retaliate for her sister's bad behaviour? I really can't accept her insulting Radella," he says angrily.
Dominic drove to Radella's parents' house to settle the matter and to warn Jessica about who she was. Truly, he had once loved her very much.
But after Jessica had hurt and humiliated him and his family, that feeling was gone. Especially after seeing Radella accept their marriage with such sincerity, even though he hated his wife at first. But Radella's patience made him fall in love.
Dominic's arrival at his in-laws' house was greeted by Radella's father and mother and Jessica. Without revealing the purpose of his arrival, he was sure that the parents already knew what had happened to their two daughters and had set the virtual universe alight today.
"Dominic. What happened to Radella?" asked Hans Yori - his father-in-law.
"No, Father. My wife is well. I deliberately left Radella at our residence to calm her down. I didn't want anything to happen to her. It's just that I really regret what happened today," Dominic replied, trying to calm his father and mother-in-law.
"We would both like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your family. Really, we never expected Jessica to do such a shameful thing to her younger sister Radella. We..."
"Dominic? I know you came here to talk about our relationship, right? You're going to divorce Radella and get back together with me, aren't you?"
The three of them were so surprised to hear Jessica's voice shouting her name with a happy face. What's more, she thought he was coming to hand Radella over to her parents. Of course, that was not what she was going to do.
"Jessica! What are you talking about? You better go to your room and stop interrupting our conversation," Hans Yori snapped at his daughter's silence.
"No, Dad. I have every right to be here. Besides, I want to know the reason why Dominic came to this house. So don't keep me from knowing everything," Jessica replied unconcernedly.
"Jessica!" Han snapped again.
"Let it go, Dad. He has a right to know my purpose in coming to this house. Because ..."
"You see? Even Dominic understands my feelings. But why do you still insist that only Radella is more suitable for Dominic? Don't you realise they're not a good match?" she said confidently, looking at Dominic who didn't even look at her.
"Enough, Jessica! You've insulted Radella enough. She's your little sister after all! No matter what has happened, Radella is still our daughter," Hans Yori reminded his daughter again. But Jessica's eyes seemed to be closed and she didn't care.
"My younger sister? How can a younger sister steal her older sister's fiancé? I've never heard of such a thing in ages. Even ..."
"Because you left your fiance, Jessica! You said you were the cause of all the trouble. You're the real traitor, not Radella," Dominic replied in defence of Radella, who was always being blamed.
"Dominic."
"You're too proud to admit the wrong you've done to me, Jessica. You shattered my dreams of a life with you and chose to leave with your dark lover. Is that what you call a fiancé? In fact, you never thought about the sacrifices Radella made for this family. Especially your parents. Now you keep blaming Radella. Where's your brain, Jessica?" he said irritably, letting out all the anger in his heart.
"Dominic. Please don't bring it up again. I am indeed guilty of leaving you at that time. But that doesn't mean you have to obey our parents' orders by marrying Radella. You also betrayed our love!" said Jessica, continuing to refute the man's words.
"Yes, I have! I have betrayed the love we once shared. But I'm not as simple as you, Jessica!" said Dominic, surprising everyone in the living room.
"W-what do you mean, Dominic? Why are you saying such hurtful things?" asked Jessica with a confused and frightened face.
"I already know what kind of work you really do in this foreign country, Jessica. I know everything about you. So don't ever lie or try to deny it. Because I have strong evidence for all of it." Dominic replied sarcastically.
"Dominic-"
"Wait a minute. What do you mean by saying that you know Jessica's real job? What proof are you talking about, Dominic? Please, tell me. What exactly was she doing with her illicit lover at that time?" asked Hans Yori, not understanding the direction Dominic was taking with Jessica's secret.
"It's better for Mum and Dad not to think about it. Just make sure that Jessica doesn't interfere in my household with Radella. Or I will make your daughter regret her actions," he replied in a threatening tone.
Of course, this made the couple's feelings even more uncertain. On top of that, their son-in-law was talking about their two daughters, who no longer got along. It wasn't Radella's fault. All the problems were caused by Jessica's selfishness in not accepting that she could no longer have Dominic.
Dominic decided to leave after telling his in-laws. All he wanted to do now was go home and see Radella. To hold the body of the woman who had made him fall in love with his patience all this time. Perhaps his life would not have been so happy if he had not married Radella. Loss can make a person uncontrollable and eventually mad.
"And I don't want to go mad just because of the actions of an ignorant woman who unfortunately happens to be my sister-in-law," Dominic said silently, looking at his parents-in-law and smiling before he walked away. "Take care of yourselves. I may not be able to let Radella see you for a while after this," he continued.
"We understand, Dominic. Give Radella our regards. Tell her we miss her," Hans Yori said, trying to smile at his son-in-law.
"Dominic, where are you going? Don't leave me again!" Jessica shouted shamelessly.
"Get out of my way or you will regret your actions, Jessica Yori!"
