Chapter 31 - Questions

Although Shane felt a bit disappointed that he didn't get the first kill of the Jumper Leader since he didn't get the first kill reward, he ignored it for now as he ran towards Harper and helped him stand up.

Anyway, there are tens of thousands of them in just his region, and it wouldn't be surprising if some of them had Legendary Talent that allowed them to kill such a strong and intelligent zombie.

Shane then checked if Harper had any wounds and asked, "Are you okay, Harper?"

"I'm fine, thanks to you. That was a tough one." Harper said, panting.

He looked at the dead Jumper Leader Zombie and shivered.

"Damn, these Jumper Zombies are scary. We need to be more careful, Sir Shane."

"That's not just a normal Jumper Zombie. It's a Jumper Leader." Shane said as he looked in the direction of the three Runner Zombies coming at them.

Eliminating these zombies wasn't as difficult as the previous ones. After Harper learned that the Runner Zombies weren't capable of turning in a different direction once they started charging, these Zombies had become weak and easy to kill in his mind…

Of course, this was only the case if there weren't tens or hundreds of them charging at him all at once.

It didn't take long before the three Runner Zombies were also looted by Shane.

After confirming that there were no more Zombies around, they picked up the metal scraps, pipes, and wire, and returned to their Shelter...

It seemed that Harper's stamina was also reaching its limit, so Shane could only hope that they would not encounter any more mid-tier Zombies.

After a few more minutes, the two reached their shelter, and rested for a while. After washing themselves for a little bit from the gathered rainwater around the serfs' houses, Shane invited Harper for a meal.

Shane decided to bring out his bread, and he even opened his mayonnaise jar!

"This is sooo good! What is this called?" Harper asked as he ate his bread. He never had never tasted something like this before!

This confused Shane for a moment since he thought that this world was quite modern considering the places that the other Survivors had been to.

Anyway, it seemed that Harper was quite different so he simply replied.

"It's mayonnaise. We only have one jar, so don't use too much." Shane reminded.

"So it's mayonnaise… What a good name! Thank you for the meal!"

After eating their fill, Shane took out his metal scraps and metal plates from his System Inventory as they planned to make a simple fence or a stronger shelter before the Zombie Wave.

Before he helped Harper do this, Shane recalled something as he started checking the Regional Chat and read the conversations of the Survivors.

He wanted to know what kind of problems they were facing or if someone started giving tips on how to survive here better.

[ Regional Chat ]

Chat Limit: 15

Online: 8,034/54,245

[ Hint: Everyone in the Region has reached Level 2 and unlocked Regional Chat. You have received five additional Chat Limits as a reward. ]

Shane gently nodded after seeing the hint. Well, it was about time that everyone leveled up and unlocked the chat function. Unfortunately, only more than half of them had survived in the process.

'They're probably regretting choosing the Zombie Apocalypse in the selection…' Shane mused.

He then shifted his attention to the Chat Board.

He saw that the Regional Chat was full of messages from different survivors. Some of them were asking for help, some of them were offering help, some of them were forming teams, and some of them were just chatting.

He also saw some messages that caught his attention, some of them came from the first few Survivors he had seen before, but most of them were new.

[ Raze ]: Does anyone know how to deal with Tyrant Zombies? They are too big and strong for me to handle. I need some advice or backup. I'm not inventing a name… It's really called a Tyrant Zombie, I saw the notification from the system calling it a Field Boss. I think I have to kill it to get out of the sewers.

[ Wilfred ]: I found a hidden stash of food and water in an abandoned supermarket near the bright Clock Tower. I have already left the place, but I'm nearby. If anyone needs some, I can share them with you in exchange for Zombie Cores. Just add me as a friend send me a private message if you're interested.

[ Lewis ]: I have a Legendary Talent that works well with mechanical devices. I won't tell you the specific name of the talent, but if anyone needs a weapon, a vehicle, an automaton, or a gadget, I can make it for you. I just need some materials and some Reputation Points. Contact me if you are interested. I'll only work with people near the North Cemetery.

[ Travis ]: Cool! We both have Legendary Talent! I have the Dragon's Bloodline!

[ Amber ]: Please be careful and don't reveal your talents just to anyone. Aside from zombies, other people can be your enemies as well, especially if they lack resources.

[ Travis ]: I know it better than you! Do you think I will reveal my talent if I'm incapable of protecting myself?

[ Linley ]: I have a tip for everyone. If you want to level up faster and unlock more features in the Apocalypse System, you should try to kill as many zombies as possible. The more zombies you kill, the more experience and rewards you get. You can also use some items or skills that can boost your experience gain, such as Experience Potions or Experience Boosters.

[ Travis ]: Hey, Linley… I think everyone knows about the first part.

[ Rene ]: I have a question for everyone. I previously read that other Survivors have three or more Apocalypse options. I only have two choices at that time: Zombie Outbreak and Ragnarok. What about you?
