Adrian walked out of the portal. But the moment he looked up, he saw a wall of Elven guards, their weapons drawn and ready to attack him.
They filled the entire square, forming an impenetrable circle around him. There were dozens, if not hundreds, all ready to strike him at a moment's notice.
I guess they found out about Vincent and Rowan.
Adrian sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. The situation was troublesome. He'd just finished a gruelling battle, first with the participants and then with Bellerophon. And now this?
He was wondering if the entire tower was just one big joke, designed to test his patience rather than his strength.
"What now?" he muttered, more to himself than anyone else.
One guard stepped forward, his eyes narrow and sword ready.
"You, human," he spat. "You cannot fool us. We know you killed our kin and now you will pay for what you've done."
