Without warning, Vernian lunged at Adrian. Adrian barely had time to react, raising his arms to block the incoming attack. The force of the blow sent him staggering back, along with a new set of broken bones.
While in his beast form, [Resurgence] worked overtime to heal his wounds. But even that had a limit. Adrian couldn't keep accumulating wounds, and even the troll blood might give up on him.
'I don't even want to imagine what would happen after that...'
While Adrian was contemplating how to get away from Vernian, the latter fulfilled his wish and delivered a powerful kick that shattered Adrian's defences and sent him flying.
Adrian collided with a stone wall. The impact shattered the structure and buried him under a pile of rubble. Dust filled the air, obscuring Adrian from Vernian's view.
