Right the next second, Lenny returned his focus to the desktop screen.
"The total is twenty dollars."
Sandy blinked. "Is there no discount?"
He shook his head. "Sorry, there's none."
"Uh…" Sandy and Aliyah looked at Mikaela, who was at a loss for words.
Lenny met her eyes briefly, noticing her awkwardness in the situation. She must've told her friends he gave her a discount.
Glancing at Lenny, Sandy peered closer to Mikaela, finally voicing her thoughts, "Mikaela, didn't you say—"
"Just kidding." Lenny cut her off, letting out a brief chuckle right after.
He quickly added, "Since Mikaela is here, you guys just have to pay ten dollars."
Sandy's eyes widened. "Oh, haha."
Slightly behind, Aliyah asked, "But how come Mikaela gets a discount and we don't?"
"She was the first customer of the day." Lenny's reply was simple to avoid complicating himself.
