The Entrance Ceremony,
The academy's headmaster, a venerable figure with a long, flowing beard, ascended the stage causing the murmurs of the crowd to die down into silence.
The headmaster's piercing gaze swept across the sea of students.A solemn atmosphere took over the crowd as the headmaster began to speak with his resonating voice.
"Welcome, esteemed students, to Owsdin Academy," his voice echoed through the ceremony field. "Today marks the beginning of your journey into the realms of magical knowledge."
Lukas listened intently to his words." Sound amplification" He thought.
His eyes occasionally glanced towards Stella sitting beside him. The headmaster continued, recounting the academy's history and the heroic deeds of the seven figures who saved humanity.
Stella leaned over and whispered, "These ceremonies are always so tedious."
Lukas chuckled quietly in agreement but kept his focus on the headmaster's words.
The speech went on for quite a while as the professors introduced themselves one after another. The audience was bored, but no one dared to disrupt the ceremony.
Finally, important matters were addressed—the rules of the academy that must be followed.
The speaker was the vice headmaster, a stunning woman with hair as white as snow.
As she began to speak, everyone became more attentive. Well, some were already attentive from the start. Beauty naturally captures attention.
Unfortunately, Lukas was not swayed by her beauty. He knew that no matter how beautiful a flower she might be, this flower was very old.
Atleast four to five hundreds years.
"Tch, look at that dude. His eyes are glued on her", Stella spoke in disgust.
Hearing this, Lukas gave an awkward smile. As he was also once a victim.
"Students, inject mana into the crystal. The dorm room numbers have been posted, along with the necessary information that you require.
Pausing briefly, she continued, "I request second-year volunteer students to escort them to their assigned classrooms, ensuring a smooth transition without any chaos."
"And so, the welcoming ceremony comes to a close. The rulebook of the academy has been delivered to your dormitories. May your endeavors here arm you well for the future," she announced.
With those words, the ceremony concluded. A metallic cover began to enclose the edges of the large circular stage, swiftly enveloping the entire stage in the blink of an eye.
Lukas quickly did what she told and a holographic image popped up.
[Congratulations, Your enrollment has been successful, Lukas ver owsdin]
[ You have been assigned to 34th single bed dormitory ]
[ Further course details will be available at the general class today ]
[ You have been assigned to "Star Group", consisting fifty students at the First years second building, 121st Room ]
[ Wish you good luck, Lukas ver owsdin]
" So which group?" Stella asked and peaked her head at the screen.
" We aren't in the same group after all" She spoke and showed her group name.
" Lotus group "
" Well, lets meet again, I guess" Lukas spoke. He didn't really know what else to say as they weren't that close to begin with.
" Well yeah, lets hope so" She spoke and stood up and started heading towards the senior who was holding the banner with the word "Lotus" writen on it.
Lukas also surveyed the banners one by one and soon enough he found his own. A stern looking senior student wearing blue suit was holding the banner.
Lukas stood up and was about to head down.
" Man, that girl was really beautiful, don't you think?"
A voice came from behind. Lukas turn around, It was the same voice who started talking about professor bane or whatever.
It was a dude with long red hair and beside him was a girl with stricking pink hair and pale skin. Above her head was two pair of wolf ears.
Both of them looked at him. The boy smiled "Hello there, I'm Carter Austen "
Lukas nodded in respond. He wasn't expecting to meet one of the owsdins so quickly.
" Lukas verdon"
His smile widened, " As expected, my guess was right, I think I saw you when you we were younger"
And reached his hands out for handshake.
Lukas felt weird ,"Wasn't this too friendly?"
But seeing the dude reaching out his hand. He didn't want to embarrass him for no reason so he also reached out.
But the moment their hands were about to touch, Carter quickly pulled his hand out ,before walking past him with the girl, leaving poor Lukas still holding his hands out.
It took him completely off guard. Lukas slowly retracted his hand. The deed was done. Some of the onlookers laughed at him but he didn't think much of it.
"We aren't strangers, but enemies, Verdon" Giving him a side glance, Carter contiuned heading towards the banner which was assigned to him with a smile as if he'd done a good deed.
The laughter around him would've made the situation more awkward for anyone else but he'd learnt to ignore that since his past life.
He sighed, shaking off the encounter, and headed towards his assigned banner, "Star Group."
" I already knew it would be intense, but for me to be targeted so soon" He muttered, shaking his head and clearing the provocation off his mind.
" It's not worth my time. I have to focus on important matters. But if I get a chance in the future, I'll repay it any way", thinking that he focused on the path ahead.
Lukas joined the group under the "Star" banner. He observed the diverse mix of students gathered together.
The group stood together and a senior student approached them. He had a confident demeanor and a friendly smile.
"Welcome, new recruits", he greeted them, his voice filled with warmth.
"My name is Eric, and I'll be your senior guide. I hope everyone won't cause any chaos. Your credit points will deducted if you don't behave well"
Everyone kept quiet, not daring to talk anymore. Well, some were still exception.
Senior Eric didn't say anything and gave them a quick glance. His eyes glowing for a second.
"Looks like he's remembering their faces" Lukas observed Eric closely, noticing the insignia on his uniform denoting his seniority.
Eric began to lead the group towards their assigned class room, following a separate path from other groups. Lukas followed along with his new classmates.
As they made their way through the bustling campus, Lukas couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. The academy was quite large, with various buildings, training grounds, and magical structures dotted throughout the whole place.
They soon arrived at the designated classroom for the "Star Group".
The door slid open, revealing a spacious room with rows of desks and a large crystal at the front of the small stage for the professor.
Senior Eric gestured for everyone to enter.
Getting a good seat was difficult as there were fifty students in this group alone.
Lukas could see those from small backgrounds gathering together at one corner of the classroom.
And as for those with smug and proud expressions, Lukas was sure they were from one of the families of owsdins.
[A/N: The five families of Owsdins:
•Verdon
• Tryus
•Kairos
•Austen
•Zenova
Each having ther own rankings. Lukas is from Verdon and his family ranks 46th among Verdons]
Lukas found an empty seat at the corner and settled in, glancing around at the unfamiliar faces. Some disputes were bound to happen and he could see some were already forming.
Two people, One girl with striking red hair and the other, a girl with hair as white as snow.
And to stop them, as expected, heroes arose, escalating the distute even more.
He couldn't help but chuckle seeing this. But at this point it had started becoming boring, looking at the Nobles bickering like small children.
Lukas felt a sudden movement beside him, when he lifted his head to check, his eyes started widening in surprise.
The girl looked at him with her cold eyes, scrunching her eyebrows.
Meanwhile, Lukas couldn't believe what he was seeing. He forgot to even blink and continued looking at her while his head was still down laying on the high bench.
She frowned even more, wondering why this guy was looking at her like a doofus.
" Wtf are you looking at?"
Lukas snapped out of his surprise, stammering, "Uhh sorry, I didn't mean to stare."
The girl rolled her eyes and turned away, muttering something under her breath.
Lukas still couldn't believe what he was seeing and slapped himself to make sure if it's real or not.
—Smack!
The girl turned around frowning harder this time, looking at him slapping himself, she was at a loss for words.
Meanwhile Lukas snapped out of his daze and laughed awkwardly.
"Haha, there was a mosquito."
Lukas tried to turn back the situation. This time she was more crept out. Thinking there might be something wrong with his head. Even the surrounding people were looking at him awkwardly.
She was about to stand up to change her seat, but the bell hanging above the door ringed. And a stern looking professor with long white hair entered the room. And slammed the staff he was holding on to the board.
" Quiet down, everyone!" He shouted, gazing at the only student standing.
" Sit down"
And thus, with regret in her heart she sat down and looked at him angrily.
Scratching his head, Lukas smiled awkwardly, "Sorry"
Her: Tch
Him: ahahaha.
