"Argh! Just come out already, Alonso!" Sophia muttered frantically then tugged at her loose hair.
Hearing footsteps on the stairs, Natalie turned around to see her best friend arriving.
"Kevin," she sighed. The two of them rushed toward each other, sharing a quick hug before stepping back.
"I ran into Bella downstairs."
She looked up at him with panicked eyes.
"Don't worry," he whispered, his green eyes following a pacing Sophia, "She doesn't know anything about us being witnesses to yesterday's fight in her backyard. Did you tell Alonso that we were there?"
She shook her head slowly, regretting postponing that conversation in the morning, "I didn't tell him, but if they pull out the records from the cameras in the streets Alonso will be the first to notice your car."
Kevin grimaced, "He has to hear it from you first."
