Hex's eyes widened in surprise as a rope appeared out of nowhere, wrapping around his wrist and trapping him.
The rope was used to abruptly lift him off the floor and to the person holding the other end.
Booooom!
The Cursed giant crashed into the ground destroying it with it's large body mass, raising layers of dust shrouding it's presence.
'Who the hell pulled me?' Hex rambled in his head as he plummeted into a man's powerful embrace and then a dark alley.
Hex was completely perplexed as he saw the guys who had spared him glower with displeasure. "Foolish child!" He said, loosening his grip on Hex.
'I am theoretically one year younger than you barbaric fool! Address me with respect!'
Hex curled his lips, evaluating the man's physical ability. He was muscular, bulky and daring-looking. A good make up for a giant's meal.
"Who dares challenge a Cursed one like that Fizi," Hex's saviour turned his gaze around to another man also in the alley supposedly his friend.
Unlike the man, Fizi was slender and skinny, smoking a cigarette that was obviously detrimental for his poor health.
"Well dream big, mum always says," Fizi spoke proudly.
Hex ran his fingers through his hair; these guys were weary and getting in the way. Leaving them immediately was the priority now.
'If I can use them as bait to distract the giant, I will escape without using a lot of my powers.... This is perfect.'
"The...."
BOOOOM! Booomm!
The giant's footfall sent fear-spreading shockwaves through them, freezing them all in place. Surely, it was focused on them.
"Crap!" The muscular one was the first to move an inch, spinning and sprinting towards the alley's end.
Grrraaabbbb!
Before he could get any farther, the monster thrusted its hand into the alley, seizing the man by the body and fully binding him.
"Kayaaahhhhk!" The guy screamed as he was grabbed off the floor and brought to the Cursed giant.
Fizi shifted his focus to Hex, who now had an unpleasant grin on his lips that said, 'I put that fucker in the dust!'
"Wait you planned this all from the beginning!" Fizi cried, staggering back a few steps before regaining his balance.
'Hehehe, never expected this fool to get it but because of the dumb effect, he caught me smiling.... No matter the deed is done, time to run.'
TUG! TUG! TUG!
Hex found it hard to move his hand, 'Wait a second, did I forget to untie the rope from my wrist.... But it is still connected with...!!!'
SHIIIITTTTT!!!!!!
The rope around Hex's wrist lifts him off the ground and into the air, swinging by force and colliding face-first into the giant's sweaty, sticky stomach. Rebounding from it and dangling in the air.
"Ayyyaaaahhhhkk! Zhuuyuuuk!!!"
The muscular man voiced out his very last shrieks after the giant squeezed him until every bone in his body could be heard cracking. At least his head didn't pop off.
The giant takes no time in pushing the man's fat head into its mouth, ripping it and gnawing it till it is drained of blood.
'Arrrrccchhhkkk!!!'
He was scared but his body refused to scream outwards.
It turns out that possessing power does not eliminate the amount of dread you have built up against something you despise.
'I have no choice but to use the cursed ability to kill the giant. My brain is too dumb to think of any further answers to this, I guess this is it....'
Snap!
The dead man's corpse released the rope allowing Hex to fall to the ground.
"Arhhhcck!" Hex screamed out as he crashed to his bottom unexpectedly. Thankfully it wasn't a large drop.
He hurriedly untied his wrist from the rope's grasp, cursing its entire existence.
After finished, he moved his attention back to check whether he had been observed; obviously he had.
The Cursed giant bared his monstrous glare on Hex growling and letting drool pour out of it's mouth.
"Damn!" Hex rose to his feet after the Cursed Giant thrust its wide open palm out to catch him.
Bussshhhk!
A second too late the palm met with the floor raising a cloud of dust Hex was too busy running to notice.
"ROOOOAAAAARRRR!!" The Cursed giant gave a pissed-off shriek throwing away the headless corpse in his grasp and stingily charging Hex.
'The giant is too close for me to charge up an attack and take aim, I will need a distraction or space to make my move!'
Hex's gaze caught sight of the alley's aperture; it would be a tight fit for the giant as well as a temporal shield.
Now the only issue was getting to it before being swatted like a bug by the Cursed giant.
"You big oaf!!!"
BAMM! BAAMM!!
The slim man jumped out of the corner firing two bullets at the Cursed giant's face.
"Huuyyaaak!!!" The bullets sparked off the Cursed giant's face dazing it in place.
Guns and other weaponry were ineffective against the cursed Ones.
They either could not break through the impenetrable shell or could not simply assault its being.
In this case, however, it was a means of buying Hex more time.
'An opening!'
Hex stamped his foot on the ground to aid his turning, facing the disarrayed Cursed giant and aiming at it's face.
"Die you fat pig!!!" A dark purple energy flowed around Hex's palm, creating a dense, frightening presence.
Fwuuullp!
He sent the beam into the air, striking the Cursed monster in the face and melting it into droplets of blood that flooded the ground.
Thud!
Its dead body greeted the earth with a deafening blast of dust.
'There is no cursed one who can withstand my new skill!'
{Phantom Absorption}
"Hehehehe!" Hex chuckled, pushing his hands into his pockets and turning to face the alley.
A familiar expression mixed with astonishment and amazement flooded the slender man's face.
'Everyone would feel that way after seeing the strength I possess as a child.'
Hex felt his body change again; he had probably become stronger, but to what extent?
"Display my body's capabilities," he whispered.
