Hex dashed across the graveyard until he reached a certain paved road that he was certain led to the exit. Maybe?
'Hehehe, that trick works in this life too!'
Hex celebrated his cunning escape, this bought him time hopefully it would be enough before the Earth dwellers caught his fluke.
Hufffgghk! Bufffggh! Keuuuk!
Hex rolled his neck around to gaze back and see dozens of Earth dwellers charging twice faster than he ran.
'Damn, I am too short to run that fast! My last cowardly card and secret weapon has to be unleashed now.'
Hex chewed his lips, causing his legs to work at maximum capacity. The skill he was about to summon made him invincible in his former life to Earth dwellers.
The notion of this almost brought a cunning smile to Hex's face. The name of this skill was.....
"Help! Help me! Help!" Hex yelled shamelessly at the top of his lungs, exhausting all of his might.
"I don't want to die! Help!" Hex bursts into tears unable to control his feigned emotions. This was basically adding sugar to a teacup.
"Help me!"
Hufffgghk!
The Earth dwellers' growls became even more intense. They were now five feet behind and gaining up quickly.
Hex swallowed hard his saliva, his secret weapon could not possibly fail. This was how he escaped hundreds of predicaments in his old life.
'This has to work!'
"Mummy! Help me...." The ultimate type of shame for a grown-up man reborn. Calling for mummy.
"Heok!"
A claw slipped into Hex's back, causing a deep incision and a massive gush of blood.
This was not enough to slow this coward down as somehow he found a way to stabilize his footing and continue running at top speed as if nothing ever happened.
'The next attack will be my last!'
Hex shifted his gaze back to see three Earth dwellers lunge at him in coordination all fangs first.
Fwuuullp!
A shovel came from the left soaring and hitting the Earth dwellers that were about to kill Hex stunning them.
"Hehehehe, my cheat skill worked!" Hex whispered to himself stopping in his tracks to catch his breath. 'Just on time, I need a moment to refill my breathing tank!'
"Guuuugggghhh!" Four guys sprang from the wayside, dashing between Hex and the Earth dwellers.
Each of them clutched their hand-picked weapons, which were all often used to bury bodies. They used this as their defense mechanism.
The Earth dwellers also stopped to access the strength of their opponents.
"Are you okay kid?" Asked the oldest of them with a pitiful tone.
A sly grin peeled across Hex's facial expression. 'Of course I am, I planned for this to happen.'
"Please save me, I am so scared!" Hex feigned his tears rising even more to complement his frightened act. And it did.
"Don't worry we will hold these things for as long as we can," the eldest shifted his gaze back to his men before locking it on the warily approaching Earth dwellers.
"I am not sure we can make it in time so lock the doors..."
"Sure thing old man!" Hex didn't wait for the man to finish, more than happy for them to take the fall for him, as it was his plan. This left the man dumbfounded.
After a short while of retrospect, the man classified Hex's behaviour under scared and surreal. 'That kid almost sounded like he tricked...'
"Victor! We need you!"
One of his partners called out under a stressed breath, the battle had started and they were losing fast.
Victor shifted his gaze back to his men one was already dead, his throat bitten and torn apart by an Earth dweller.
Victor charged to their rescue holding high a shovel to battle the Earth dwellers.
He swung his shovel at the first Earth dweller he got close to whacking it hard on the head stunning it.
"Heuk!" Victor shifted his gaze around to watch one of his other men squirm with horrid screams as an Earth dweller tackled him by biting on the part where his groin was located.
This attack stuns him long enough for another to bite at his throat tearing his head completely from his body.
'Dick move Cursed ones!'
"Buek!" Victor almost puked at the sight of it. The numbers of Earth dwellers were too deluging. There was no winning this.
He propelled his shovel again pounding down on an Earth dweller square on the face before it reached him. Even though there were two of them left, they would still be able to hold this position long enough for...
"Kuheiik!" The second man screamed as an Earth dweller dived beneath his attack and used the opening to totally bite off his wrist.
They weren't trained in combat in any way, this should be expected of them.
How foolish they were to believe they could stand firm against the Cursed ones.
Vincent gasped again as three additional Earth dwellers surrounded his final man, reducing him to shreds of flesh and blood in no time.
"Arrrggfhhh!" At this sight, a full-grown man like Vincent shrieked in fear as he was greatly outnumbered by Earth dwellers that clawed their way through his flesh.
It didn't take more than ten seconds before his screams sufficed as the Earth dwellers ripped off every valuable organ he possessed in his body.
This was an expected end for all who lived in Outwood. A gruesome death.

Hex kept on running at a steady pace, 'men are so easy to manipulate as a child.'
After a couple glances at the massive mechanical fence some yards away, Hex could finally relax.
'I might not be able to recall what happens next, but something in my gut tells me it's going to get far worse.'
