Quinlan walked through the bamboo forest, watching as their canopy waved with the wind and the dried leaves crunched with his every step.
He felt like he walked a few kilometers without a single change in scenery as if the bamboos around were just a looping parallax background instead of real objects.
"How deep does this bamboo forest go?" He muttered after finding that his walk seemed to have no end.
Right then, as if to answer his question, a light appeared at the end of the forest trail ahead of him. It was the end of the road—the exit! Curious and excited, Quinlan hastened his steps, moving closer toward the light.
"HALT!"
But just as he burst out of the forest, a loud voice called to stop him.
