Thud—!
Due to the height of the place Desmond rented, which wasn't as spacious as the one Gin had used for his search and investigation, he was having difficulty leaving the building. Jumping out the window wasn't an option either, as the height would result in fall damage, which wasn't a feasible choice in his situation.
Dodging another elongated hand made of flesh that surged through the nearby room, Desmond evaded it by a hair's breadth, causing him to draw a long breath.
Upon reaching the corner of the hallway and spotting the flight of stairs leading to the floor below, Desmond jumped down, disregarding the considerable distance between the floors.
Thud—!
Landing neatly on the ground, Desmond abandoned his initial plan to use the same stairs. The hands made of flesh were right on his heels, leaving him no choice but to head towards the other end of the hallway.
Crash—!
