The greenish Praying Mantis, also known as the Green Mantis, was an insect-type magic beast whose duty it was to guard and protect the Great Forest Temple of the Goddess Vandira.
So naturally, it would be drawn to the presence of strangers who entered the Temple of the Goddess unannounced or uninvited, and in this case, it was Damon and Ysar.
The Green Mantis was a tall creature, standing at a height of about 8 to 9 feet and about a metre or two long with a greenish, shiny body that made it looked like it was covered in some type of glistening armour.
Catching sight of the two individuals, who it had marked as intruders, the Green Mantis brandished its most terrifying weapon — its claws — right off the bat, waving them in the air for Damon and Ysar to behold.
The mantis bared its raptorial claws at the intruders, ready to attack them.
