Damon moved around and surveyed the forest for a bit.
He stopped and turned around a few times, looking in many directions.
"I haven't even seen a guardian yet," he said.
The Second Floor was not as closeted as the Floor of Riddles.
It was a vast realm with different locations and a player's starting point depended on which lighthouse they took to enter the floor.
Damon walked for about half an hour and stopped, with his hands placed on his waist.
He hissed and took a peek at his profile, only realising that he was yet to check out his newest skill [Point of View].
Checking it out, Damon was shocked at what it was that he didn't believe it.
Eventually, he decided to try it out.
"First trial is free anyway," he consoled himself.
[You have activated skill «Point of view»]
[Point of View]
[Countdown: 60 seconds]
"Huh? Why is it counting down?" Damon uttered in confusion.
He sighed. "This better not be a flu—"
The cat got Damon's tongue as the effect of [Point of view] began.
In the next second, Damon shuddered.
His jaws opened up. "What the—"
It was like nothing he had ever seen.
With the activation of [Point of View], two incredible things happened around him.
One, everything turned to black and white in an instant.
Even though this was extraordinary, the second effect was even more outstanding.
After everything turned into black and white, zero movement was effected.
Everything stopped moving.
It was as though time had stopped flowing for a moment.
After a few seconds, time began to flow again but the black and white effect remained.
Everything was affected, except the caster of the skill, Damon.
Damon felt like a spectator watching the world through the old black and white televisions in the real world.
That was the effect of [Point of view].
Damon was detached from the current world and viewed the events that occurred within it from the outside.
[57 seconds]
The skill was a remarkable one.
Point of View granted Damon the gift to see it all for 60 seconds.
He could see everything — present and future — that happened within a certain expandable radius for one minute.
As he watched the events that unfolded before his eyes, Damom caught sight of a beautiful elf that was running from something which he was yet to see.
'Who is that?' he wondered.
The young, beautiful elf was weary and her cloth was tattered, still soaked and dirty.
Damon could see her but she could not see him.
It was like he did not exist in their plane of existence any longer.
[Point of View] assigned him the role of an outsider or a spectator that roamed about and watched events of the world within the sphere of his skill's influence.
He watched Ysar stop by the bank of another river to drink.
She bent low and immersed her face in the refreshing cold water.
The refreshing feeling of the cold water touching her made her forget her worries for a moment.
[40 Seconds]
Damon raised his eyebrows.
"Huh?" he muttered as he looked beyond Ysar's figure.
The player caught a glimpse of many shadows that approached silently from behind Ysar.
He observed as they trod carefully so they did not alert the young elf.
"Hey!" he shouted at the elf. "Watch out!"
Noticing the weapons in their hands as they drew closer, Damon shouted to alert Ysar, who had just raised her face from the water.
"Watch out!"
Unfortunately, she could not hear or see him.
Damon then realised that he could not affect the events that occurred once [Point of View] was active.
He looked at his hands and then at Ysar as she knelt helplessly at the river bank, unaware of the danger that approached her from behind.
'This is the future,' Damon said in his head with his eyes widened in utter surprise.
'What… What type of skill is this?'
[33 seconds]
Before she could notice their presence, a green arrowhead went through the centre of her chest, piercing her from the back.
Ysar shrieked and spewed blood.
Blood poured from the site and out from her mouth as well.
She neither noticed the goblins nor did she hear the warnings of the outsider.
