Looking at the empty character sheet, Beth thought to herself, "That's a lot of things to fill out. It seems I cannot receive all of them at this level either."
Beth took her time in filling out the empty template with the necessary information needed. It was easy for her since she already knew what kind of character she wanted her avatar to be.
Within minutes she was done, after which she sought to save her progress.
What is not saved, did not happen.
In essence, unsaved progress in Nexus Online was lost progress.
It was that simple.

"Not sure there's any other thing I'd like to add to [Nyx]. I don't think so. I'm already used to using it plainly as 'Nyx'. It would be weird if I modify it."
Beth hit the [Save] button and her avatar profile appeared. She read it and liked what it said.

The instruction was rather simple and all she had to do was accept the synchronisation.
Beth did so and was engulfed by rings of green light that circled her, changing her form to match exactly what she had designed her in-game avatar to look like.

She was amazed at how advanced the world of Nexus was.
"I wonder how it will be when it launches if this is just a beta test."
Beth's appearance started to change within the rings of green light as she morphed gradually into her character to be.
Her ears lengthened and became pointed like those of an elf, just as she had selected her race to be.
Her face and skin tone, although now looking CGIed, remained the same as the real Beth.
She tapped on [View Avatar] to see what she had created and her avatar's profile dropped.

Most of the details of her character were still empty and this was not because she refused to put them in… she just could not.
It required that she completed the current preliminary level in the [Anteroom] before she could gain access to further development in her avatar.

Officially, Beth had completed her character creation and was now a registered player of Nexus Online.
Having completed her character creation, her tag changed from [Visitor] to her character name, [Nyx].
Any moment from then, she was going to be riddled with rewards from the «Preliminary Level: Level 0»

She sucked her teeth. She had done this because she was expecting something juicier.
However, Beth also understood that her avatar had not done anything worthy of note yet to earn any massive rewards or points for development.
She had not even started the game.
'I guess we'll just grow on my way in the game.'
