Richard noticed Veronica referring to the woman as a demon in the distance from the corner of his left eye. He narrowed his gaze, able to deduce who she was from her character design and behavior. As he turned his attention back to Arina, his brow furrowed with concern.
"So, you're not with them, right?" Richard asked. "You like this world the way it is, and you don't want to see it destroyed?"
Arina shifted uncomfortably, her posture tense. "Didn't I just say that?" she asked, sounding confused.
"But if you're on my side, you should have had many chances to meet and inform me of all this by now," Richard continued, grabbing a glass of red wine from a passing buttler. "I mean, we're technically family after all. Telling your father you wanted to meet your cousin in country Z or at S.T.A.R. shouldn't have been too much. Yet, the time you happen to inform me of all this is in a scenario where it seems I'm already trapped in a spiderweb."
