Chapter 44 - 44. Finding Harissa

The guards at the gate were all shocked at first, and they ran in response to Silas' gaze, but then they turned around and came after him.

"You can't get away with what you've done!" one of the guards shouted, and Silas looked back with a raised brow.

He currently held the captain of the guards by the neck, up in the air. He smiled as he charged at the soldiers with a grin on his face.

"You seriously pulled out a sword?" Silas said as he got to the side of a soldier. Then he got into a fighting stance and cracked his fists.

The guards came at him one by one, only to get hit with a few kicks and punches. The swords couldn't land a single hit on Silas as he moved to the sides, dodging them.

'Having a facet for clarity of the mind is indeed useful,' he thought as he twirled and bent down, dodging a sword while sweeping a guard off his feet onto the ground.

Putting chi into his leg, he sent the guard flying into a building with a single kick. Soon, Tian and his mother came out and went to the gate to see the battle unfolding there.

They saw Silas, who had a calm expression, dealing with the guards one by one, even if they used swords.

'Hm... Their swordsmanship hasn't reached the level of the ninjas I trained with. And their close combat skills can't reach that of a Shaolin monk either,' Julius thought as he looked back at the guards that lay around on the ground. Then he stepped out of the city gates.

He didn't immediately head towards the forest but stretched his body before getting into a sprinting position. Then he charged forward.

He was currently moving as fast as a motorcycle, focusing only on reaching his destination as he ran around the fence of the empire to check.

After a while, he soon arrived at a small station in front of the wall that led into it, and he walked in.

A guard stood by the door there, and he looked at Silas from head to toe.

"I wish to use the teleportation portal," Silas said, and the guard nodded and let him through after paying a fee.

Teleportation gates were very important now, as he would be using them a lot. It's not like he could just run to another city.

A city in the empire was much smaller than those in real life, around one-third the size. But still, they were large and would take some time.

He saw the portal, which swirled with energy, and he entered it. He immediately closed his eyes as he felt as if he was being flushed down a drain.

His eyes spun as he struggled to find solid ground.

It all stopped soon, and Silas opened his eyes to see himself in a market of slaves. He saw people being tied to chains while lining up, and he could also see whips being cracked as they went out to hit their target.

Silas looked around, then beside him, and saw Juliet standing there, his heart skipping another beat.

"Juliet? You have to stop doing that. Also, where are we currently?" he asked, and Juliet walked forward.

"We're in the slave market in the fifth land. This place is known for selling slaves of all types and qualities," the little demon explained, and Julius walked forward.

"So what exactly are we doing here?" Silas asked her, and she looked at him.

"You sealed a young cultivator's qi a while ago. The girl's name is Harissa. She came from the family of a Duke who threw her out after finding out that she was no longer a cultivator," Juliet explained to him, and Silas nodded with a smile before walking with her deep into the slave market.

"I know about that. I told you monitor the both of them after all. I just didn't think we'll be in such a place," Silas said with a sigh.

It seemed like the Heavens aren't truly beautiful.

The two of them saw a young lady with long white hair being dragged into a cage along with other people like her, and Silas couldn't help but be disgusted by this technique of marketing.

Silas looked at the young woman. Her white hair darkened in color, and her once vibrant grey eyes seemed to have given up on life.

Silas stalked her for the entire time, then he looked at his watch.

[6:03 am]

'Damn, I've been playing for eight hours straight. I need to get her and leave this game to start work today,' Silas thought. Then they saw the man who took her in chains bring her out and hand her over to another man.

The man seemed like an influential person as he wore expensive clothes. He took Harissa by the chains and pulled her with him.

After that, Silas and Juliet followed the man's carriage as he took it out of the city.

Silas and Juliet only stayed at a distance as they watched on.

'I wonder what that man wants to use her for,' Silas thought, and then he looked around. The location they were at was really desolate.

"Ahhhhh!!!"

Hearing a loud scream, Silas waved his hand and blasted the roof of the carriage away. He saw that the man was about to force himself on the girl, and he could see her crying.

The man looked around in confusion as he wondered what happened to the carriage. Silas silently walked towards the carriage with a sigh, and the man noticed him.

"Tsk. Kill that man!!" the nobleman shouted, and the two guards with him moved at quick speed, flanking Silas and Juliet.

"Remove them from my way," Silas' voice was cold and commanding. Juliet only became a red blur, which flashed; in that moment, the two guards were nowhere to be seen again.

Silas walked towards the carriage and looked inside. He then saw Harissa, who stared at him in shock, and she crawled backward in terror.

"You? Have you come to finish me off?" she said in a shaky tone, and Silas could hear the pain in her voice.

"Harissa, former student of the Divine Lotus Sect. Do you... want power?"
