Kunal glanced at Sophie, who was looking at him suspiciously, and sighed, feeling trouble brewing. He smiled and explained to her calmly, "This was not a plan of mine, but the work of unfortunate timing instead." To further prove himself, he showed her the screenshot of the message Sam had received, which told him to hurry home.
Kunal shrugged, feeling exasperated at Sophie's suspicion. Sophie didn't believe his words entirely and continued to eye him suspiciously, but ignoring her suspicions as if they were air, Kunal gestured for her to sit down in the car.
Sophie had no other choice, although she denied it. Why? Because it was embarrassing to admit that she, a young adult, didn't know the way back to her office, even though she had toured this place countless times in the past. And the other reason was that she just wanted a break from her work.
Kunal tried to ignore her looks of distrust and continued driving, but seemingly having had enough, he stopped the car and complained as he looked at her in displeasure, "I have already shown you proof. What more do you need?"
Sophie flinched, hearing Kunal complain. It was too sudden for her when she was only looking at him discreetly (she was not). Angry at his sudden (?) complaint, when she had decided to drop the matter (talk about bad timing), she retorted, annoyed, "I can't believe the message was sent voluntarily. What if you were the one who told them to send that message? That 'if' is eating me from inside. Satisfied now?"
Sophie's figure deflated, and she sank into her seat after her outburst. She instantly felt guilty as Kunal silently started the car and resumed driving. A few seconds later, which felt like a long time to her, Kunal spoke again without looking at her. "If you can't believe me, just think I did that so I could go on a date with you."
Kunal laughed a little as he glanced at Sophie from the corner of his eyes. She froze, and her face quickly turned red. It even looked like steam was starting to rise from her face.
"Wh-what-a-are you talking about?" She stammered, blushing profusely in embarrassment.
"The truth," Kunal answered succinctly with a wide smile.
Sophie's heart started to race, and she started to hiccup. What? She was too extreme. No, she wasn't, as Kunal was her first crush and love. He was the one who had taught her how to live, and even though she had talked rudely to him, that was because he hadn't approached her even once since their abrupt and forced breakup.
She was cooling her face when her hand collided with a heavy sack. She frowned and looked toward Kunal, who hadn't responded, and opened the sack.
She looked in shock at the content inside that had tumbled out. She looked toward Kunal, her eyes quivering, as she questioned in a hoarse voice, "What is it, and why is it so much?"
Kunal looked at the sack, which she had opened without permission, and at Sophie alternately, and laughed out loud. He laughed so hard that his stomach started hurting, and tears started to come out of his eyes.
He huffed, as he tried to calm himself down, and spoke with difficulty: „What's with your reaction?" It's just Vegetables. „If someone looked at you, they might think there are some bodies inside."
Kunal continued to laugh after barely speaking, and looking at him struggling with too much laughter, Sophie thought to herself that she wouldn't be surprised if she saw a dead body, but this much food-making would kill her or anybody else.
" But it's not just some vegetables." There's a ton of it. Five kilograms of potatoes, three kilograms of tomatoes, and more. „This is called Hoarding."
"It's not hoarding or anything. We are a healthy family, and we eat just a little more."
Before she could say anything, Kunal cut her off and warned her sternly, "Don't you dare talk about the amount. It's rude to talk about diet when you are not a doctor."
Sophie stifled her laughter as she glanced at Kunal, looking at her seriously. She nodded, eliciting a sigh of relief from him, and he started driving again. Sophie thought to herself that this might be the only thing that made him embarrassed.
Sometime later, Kunal asked her abruptly, without giving her a single glance, "Hey, do you want to go somewhere with me?" He didn't dare look at her, afraid of seeing disappointment on her face. After all, she was one of the few people who made him feel something.
Sophie, feeling clear of the awkwardness that appeared due to not talking to him for a long time, smiled dazzlingly, dispelling the fear inside Kunal. "Sure, but on one condition."
"What condition?" Kunal asked hurriedly, almost desperately, his voice cracking at the imminent success.
"You have to tell me where we are going, duh." Sophie giggled, looking at Kunal, feeling flustered. This was a small win for her, a revenge she took on her strength.
" It's a Bugmi event. I was invited as their most famous player." Kunal explained as he too smiled happily.
"I know," Sophie muttered to herself, but her voice still reached Kunal's ears, making him blush slightly.
They continued bickering and laughing their entire journey to reach the Bugmi event.
**************
In the morning, when Kunal and Sam were chatting with Sophie, Aishwarya was lying lazily on her bed, wearing loose-fitting t-shirts and pajamas, and eating delicious popcorn made by Nitin while watching her ecchi anime.
" DING DONG! ITNI SAKTI~" The doorbell rang and its song continued to ring inside, irritating Aishwarya so much that she broke the remote in anger. Nitin, who had just finished bathing, hurried over, aware of her condition. After reaching her room, he winked at her and gave her a new remote, as seeing him had lessened her irritability.
Nitin locked her door to not disturb her and ruin her mood, and he walked towards the door shirtless, with his face and hair slightly wet. He felt slightly embarrassed greeting someone like that, but the bell continued ringing, giving him no time.
Nitin opened the door, smiling widely, but he was greeted by the sharp gleam of iron. The woman standing outside abruptly swung her axe at the unprepared Nitin.
