The old professor commanded the room with an aura of authority despite the gentle smile on her face. The students knew better than to disrupt her class, so they all paid rapt attention to her lecture—Adam included.
"The School of Summoning as you all know," she began, "specializes in calling forth creatures, objects, or energies from elsewhere in the world to serve the caster. This 'elsewhere' is the Spirit World.
"Summoning is an intricate discipline, requiring mastery of the energies of the various planes in the Spirit World, deep knowledge of the summoned creatures, and a blend of arcane and contractual elements to ensure their cooperation or control."
