Madelyn and Dunn were stunned as Heya explained everything that happened while they waited for Asa to calm down.
"Something like that happened?" Madelyn asked, "No wonder big sis cried like that. She must have felt everything that Mia felt and I can't imagine how sad Mia was when she woke up from that big flood."
Dunn also nodded his head, "It must be difficult for you too, feeling everything Heya feels." he said to Joan.
Joan sighed, "The most important points here are The Night's Edge which turned out to be just an ordinary sword, the crimes of the predecessors of Antara, the injustice experienced by the blood drops clan and the fact that Crys was something that existed even hundreds of years ago."
Madelyn thought for a moment before answering, "You're right. How is it that for hundreds of years we all didn't know about the Crystal Doom problem and only in recent years found out about their existence? Where have the crys been hiding for all these years?"
Joan shakes his head, "No idea but lets keep this information to ourselves for now. Do not tell anyone."
Dunn was taken aback, not immediately agreeing with Joan's request. "Why should we keep the truth from others?" he questioned.
Joan turned to him, saying nothing, only locking eyes with him. Perhaps there was an intention to intimidate Dunn, but Dunn remained unfazed.
Asa let out a sigh as she watched the two exchange intense glances. Her hand gently patted Dunn's shoulder. "Secrets sometimes protect people. We don't know how the masses will react to such a revelation, so we can try to keep this to ourselves for now, yeah?"
Finding Asa's reasoning to be sound, Dunn nodded in agreement.
Joan redirected his gaze once more to Asa Amerta. "What happened after I left?" he inquired.
Asa smiled wistfully, her hand reflexively patting her now-empty stomach. "I gave birth to Mia and Heya's child."
"And?" Joan asked, his heart feeling warmth creeping out to the surface at this news.
Asa nodded, "Mia named him Dan, just as Heya suggested. Heya was right; he's a healthy baby boy."
"Then?" Joan inquired once again, unable to deny his excitement at learning about Heya and Mia's child.
Asa sighed before telling the whole story of what happened after Heya's passing.
Mia get to have a long life due to Joan's sacrifice. However, Mia's ability to read the future has become greater after the incident.
Mia saw how their Antara will fall down to ashes and turn into chaos. By that time, blood drops clan have already died from ages.
After the flood, not much male survived, birth rate plummeting down in the clan and Mia have predicted that its not long until the end of Blood Drops Clan.
Mia still believed in her previous prophecy.
Behold, the sole deliverers shall be those who wield the Night's Edge, unraveling the darkness that shrouds. Once more, they shall restore harmony to a tranquil realm, uniting the realms of forest, mountain, and ocean.
One day, there will come a person that wield the Night's Edge and reunite all the clans into one big family again. Bringing prosperity and peace towards the people and the land.
"But didn't you said that the Night's Edge is just a regular sword, big sis?" Madelyn asked.
Asa nodded, "Yes, it is. However, Mia's life had fallen into disarray due to her commitment to safeguarding The Night's Edge. Thus, she believed that the ultimate resolution to all this chaos lay within The Night's Edge as well."
Dunn nodded in agreement with Asa's words once more, prompting, "And then?"
Joan also listened intently to Asa's explanation, his full attention directed towards the woman who now felt much closer to him.
Asa continued to explain...
Mia freeze her own son in time, Dan.
Every night she whispered to her baby about how she will leave him one day and the day that she leaves, she will tell the youngest Blood Drops Clan to protects him until the very last time.
"Such a thing happened?" Madelyn exclaim in surprise.
Asa nodded, "And so, there's indeed a young girl that I trained since childhood to take care of Dan. Based on Mia's plan, when the young girl felt that her end was near, she unfroze Dan and placed him on the upper ground, near the woods."
Asa's felt a pang in her heart as she realized something when she's telling the story.
She suddenly gasped. Her hands instinctively covered both of her mouths.
In a matter of seconds, her eyes welled up with tears, which didn't take long to cascade down her cheeks.
"Big sis?" Madelyn was startled by Asa's sudden emotional shift. In a panic, she grabbed both of Asa's shoulders and gently shook her, asking, "What happened?"
Asa tightened her grip around her mouth to swallow down her sob.
Oh my god. Its Dan! Its Daniel! The son of Mia and Heya is Daniel! My baby brother Daniel! It must be him… then… then… the Night's Edge is on my back right now. This sword on my back must be the Night's Edge.
This realization surprised Asa so much that she have a hard time to breath.
Her head throbbed with the weight of the conversations she had inside her mind.
Asa wasn't a fool; she understood that everyone desired full credit for bringing back the peace to Antara.
Reflecting on what had transpired in her life, Asa couldn't fully trust anyone but herself.
Revealing that Dan was Heya and Mia's child, the prophesied one who would bring peace, would undoubtedly bring much adversity upon her and Dan.
Therefore, in the midst of her shock, Asa sought to concoct a lie that could serve as a reason for her sudden emotional shift.
All eyes were now fixed on her—worry, curiosity, and amazement reflected in their gazes.
Asa tried to regain emotional stability first, forcefully swallowing her surprise and inner turmoil.
Releasing her grip on her mouth slowly, Asa took a deep breath before answering.
"I just..." She swallowed all her doubts about lying, her gaze sharp as it met the three pairs of eyes locked onto her. "I just had a vision in my mind that the young girl dies before completing her mission. And... Mia and Heya's child, he's been kidnapped by mysterious figures. Until now, Dan remains in eternal slumber, frozen in time."
