Chapter 43 - The First Crusade, Years Later

'Would thou carest thyself to join us?" Methuselah extended his hand to him and asked with a smile on his face. Although such a pleasant smile was in front of him, Elric knew that once he said no, he would be killed on the spot.

With that knowledge, Elric took Methuselah's hand, effectively joining their group.

"Noah!" Methuselah called out. "What is it?" He asked.

"As the highest patriarch of The House of Adam, take the House of Garenson under our House. They are to be treated as brothers-in-arms, and are to be protected as they likewise protect us." Methuselah commanded with great authority.

"But…' Noah was placed in a difficult position, "The House of Garenson is of equal if not greater power than our House. It would be next to impossible to place them under our wing. That is still the case even if I am a Servant of God."

Suddenly, Elric stepped forward and handed something over to Noah. It was a wooden plaque with "Garenson" carved on it. "Art thou sure about this, Elric?" Noah asked the Garenson man. In response, Elric only nods.

Sighing, Noah said to him, "Then, go in peace, friend. Seek thy new fate somewhere else. I shall guide thy people under my wing."

He then faced Methuselah and said to him, "Protect Elric from harm, Great Ancestor."

"It is naturally my responsibility to do so." After saying that, the ancestor and the people with him— together with their new companion— vanished, with the vile sword together with them.

Noah, who had been left alone in the middle, could only sigh at the development of events. When the others had arrived at where he was, Eilmad was the first to speak.

"Lord Noah, where is the sword?" He asked. "It is now in safer hands." Noah replied.

"Lord! Thou mustn't hath given them the sword! We need it to reunite the empire under our banner!" He said with worry. 'We do not need it. Also, we cannot get it from them." Noah answered simply.

"Why?" the other one asked. 'Because we have no power to do so.' Noah thought to himself before shaking his head, accepting the predicament.

Eilmad and the others could only regret that they had not come sooner, not knowing that nothing would've changed even then.

"Wait." Suddenly, as if just noticing something wrong, Ilmar looked around and questioned, "Where is Fellow Elric?"

The others, noticing the irregularity, nodded in realization and looked at Noah. "He hast gone on another journey, one that would hopefully lead him to greater heights." Noah responded, with his eyes gazing far away.

With all that said, everyone returned to the city, rejoicing their victory. With the people having no knowledge of who killed the Demon Emperor, they naturally gave the credit to Noah himself, further solidifying the authority of the Servant of God in the hearts and minds of the people.

The people who were evacuated also came back after being informed of the victory. It was then discovered that some of them got blessings while staying within the Sacred Place.

The years that passed became the demonkind's time of reckoning as the forces of the Heavenly State charged at the cities that were still under demonic influence. The Greater Demons and their minions were hunted, slaughtered, and banished into an unknown realm beyond mortals' reach. Even Nibiru, the demon that was once lording over them, was easily killed by Noah. The First Crusade is now taking place.

As for the situation of the State, without the Nephtal Empire holding them at a chokehold, its territories expanded like wildfire, occupying several cities every single day. Soon, the territories that the Empire once hold wholly succumbed into the embrace of God's Heavenly Empire.

Noah, as the highest Servant of God, was placed as God's Representative to the Human Race, in charge of all the actions of humanity to coordinate all into serving God in the greatest way possible, devoid of the sins that the past generations had plunged themselves into. Vile customs were taken down and replaced new laws of worship and morality. All became under a new, more civilized society.

But, unbeknownst to them, the beings they had been banishing— slowly growing in numbers— are now gathering within their own realm, preparing for a grand plan.

About fifty years after the battle that erased the Demon Emperor off the face of the Earth, in the outskirts of the Divine City of Amare. There, Noah, adorned in his yellow regal costume, stood in front of the still-intact Ark, reminiscing about the past. Looking at it, he clasped his hand and prayed, "Almighty God, Thou hath bestowed us numerous blessings over the years. Thou hath protected us from harm and delivered us from defeat, and to that, we are forever grateful, Oh God. Through thy blessings, we now hath no need for the salvation through the Ark. There is now no need for the wiping out of sinners."

Not even a second after he said that, the abandoned city of Luciferius suddenly erupted, shocking every people in the world as they felt the tremors rocking all the lands and seas. Animals began to evacuate in droves, as if running for their lives. The Black Palace, as terrifying and magnificent as it can be, symbolizing the rise and fall of an Empire, collapsed as a tall volcano rose up in its place, spewing enormous amounts of lava, ashes, and debris into the air. As a city that can be traveled in caravan in just a few days, everyone in the Divine City of Amare can see the spectacle within the ancient city.

Without even wasting a second, Noah flew to the ancient city to look at what was happening. He flew above the volcano. There, he saw numerous monstrous and burned beings scrambling their way to the top, with salivating mouths and glaring eyes, as if eager to feed.

The deeper he looked, the more terrified he became as he saw the countless demons rushing their way out of the exploding volcano. Just in time, the volcano once again spewed out debris. Together with them were a couple of demons, riding the debris on the way out.

Soon, he realized that if the demons can ride on the debris, then it can only mean that… the first explosion might have already brought out a number of them!

And just as he expected, in a town where one of the rocks from the volcano landed, screams of panic erupted as demons began to assault the inhabitants. It was the case all over the surrounding cities and towns.

While that was happening, numerous people also began murdering other people, declaring that the Great and Eternal Lucifer shall be the one to rule all of creation. Truly, Chaos has plunged into the lands of the Earth.
