Chapter 31 - Prepare Thyselves

"That's a demon, I tell you. A demon!" Lamech yelled in fear and frustration.

"Explain, Father." Noah asked.

"Didn't thou feeleth it?" Lamech shouted in a whisper, "That must be the works of the demon! That could only be it!"

"What doth thou mean it isn't?" Lamech gasped. He trusts his son's, rather, The Servant of God's judgement since he is closer to divinity than all of them and could sense the malicious energies to identify the works of demons. But for him to say that all that was happening isn't the work of a demon seemed unbelievable to him.

"We wanted to go to the sacred place to communicate with our divinity, but we can't even go out because of those outside. We also need to suppress our carnal desires that might overtake… Agh!" Ilmar was trying to explain their position when he suddenly stopped and grunted as sweat trickled down his face, his cheeks turning rosy red.

Noah, noticing his discomfort, did what must be done.

Bang!

Everyone was startled when Noah punched Ilmar on the stomach. But noticeably, his complexion returned to normal and his body seemed to similarly become healthy too.

"T-Thanks, Master Noah." Ilmar chuckled and thanked him whilst in pain. "No need."

"Where art the other leaders?" Noah asked them.

Elric sighed and replied, "They have succumbed into their beastly desires. We had no choice but to tie them up in the back." Hearing that, Noah became solemn. This problem must be taken care of immediately. Any delay on this matter might cause irreparable damage to the people, in their own eyes and in the eyes of The Almighty.

"Elric, what's thy take in this matter?" Noah asked.

"If it was not the workings of a demon, then it might be some natural aphrodisiacs was scattered in the air and somehow was breathed in by our people." Elric answered.

"What if it's a demon?" Lamech hissed. Although it was already said that it wasn't the workings of a demon, Elric still replied to the old man's inquiry, "If it's a demon, then we're either facing the lustful succubi or that."

"That— what?" Noah squinted his eyes, confused. "O-Oh. Nothing." Elric chuckled in embarrassment.

"If it were the former, we also would have been affected as soon as we entered." Noah muttered, "But, it could be that it was blown away by the wind." He then contradicted himself.

Without anything entering his mind, he could only kneel down and pray, in hopes of finding answers through God.

"Almighty God, thy servants asketh for thy guidance. Let the darkness in our minds disperseth and giveth forth answers to our predicament." He prayed with eyes closed.

Following him, Dawid and the three old leaders and the other hundred men knelt in unison to pray, "Almighty God, clear our minds of the fog that hinders our judgement. Shine upon us the light of enlightenment."

From the skies, light slowly came down and rested on top of the hall before going through the roof and into the hall itself.

When they saw the divine light, they were overjoyed and continued praying, communicating with divinity. Noah established contact with Enoch, asking him, "What are we facing here? What hath intruded within our holy land?"

"Prepare thyself." Enoch's voice replied, "Thou art facing not a demon, but a primordial existence, one that has existed even before this universe had begun."

"What?" Hearing that, Noah deflated. An existence that predates the universe is something that would definitely overpower them. They wouldn't last even seconds against it. Elric, as if having a clue about what this existence is, grimaced.

"What should we do?" Noah asked Enoch with hope and desperation.

"Although it is a primordial existence, it is still defeatable by the common man." Enoch replied. Noah stood and waited for Enoch's answer.

Enoch then began explaining to Noah the predicament at hand, "Thou art facing Lust, One of The Seven Natures of Mortality. It influences its victim's mind by infiltrating it and strengthening the influence of their sexual desires in their body. One of the acts that can resist and restrain lust would be to personify those who refrain from it."

"The Chaste?" Noah's eyes lit up at the thought. Backing his confidence, Noah heard Enoch's hum of approval. "The Seven Natures of Mortality can only be resisted by those of pure heart and soul, with great faith in oneself, and those who act upon its counterpart; The Seven Divine Acts."

"That is all I can tell you. Humanity must learn to stand on its own feet." After saying that, Enoch's presence slowly vanished, together with the contacts of others with their divinities.

"Hath the Divine revealed the path to take against this?" Lamech asked his son.

To that, Noah nodded and faced the hundred Blessed, "Everyone! The Divine has revealed what needs to be done!" He shouted.

Soon, he began to explain to them the path that a Blessed must take. While listening to it, a noticeable expression could be seen on Elric's face.

The Blessed Path was a method that Noah himself had undergone whilst on his past journey around the world. It is the path that encourages the Blessed to shed their mortality and assume their high self. It is an endeavor that is quite hard to be in. To shed their mortality is to shed their humanity, which was one of the reasons he still hadn't handed the method over to them.

It would seem that they would be forced to do so.

"The Blessed Path is an easy path to take as an innocent kid, but a rigorous venture to those who had already experienced the vicissitudes of life. It is the cultivation of one's self to achieve a higher consciousness, one that would be of Purity and Divine Sinlessness."

"To cultivate it is to shed your mind's mortality, turning it into a divine that knows sin and wholly being able to control its course within one's mind. If ye complete it, ye would be shedding thine humanity."

"Would thee be willing to shed thine humanity to save the souls of this world?" Noah said to them, giving them a chance to choose.
