Chapter 99 - King Henri

The throne room is large, spacious, and opulent.

It seems almost redundant and pointless to call a throne room 'opulent', because what else would one be, but...at the same time, I can't deny what I can see.

Marble tiles intricately inlaid with delicate golden embossing cover the floor, and ornate torches line the walls, either bronze or perhaps even gold, engraved with designs I don't readily recognize. Sweet perfume fills the room, wafting on the smoke from the burning torches - presumably whatever oils the king uses for the wall sconces.

Several pillars rise upwards toward the ceiling, providing support to the room's structure. Thick red curtains hang along the walls, and a massive painting depicts the history of Carleon, stretching from one end of a wall to another.
