He presses his lips into a flat line only a moment later. "Although, given the circumstances, it is unfair to keep you in a position that constantly puts you in harm's way. Perhaps I-"
"I chose this job," I remind him. "The danger doesn't matter."
He closes his mouth, from where it'd been left open mid-word when I interrupted him, and hums. "Regardless, I find myself concerned."
"Don't be such a pain in the ass, then."
