After a bit more of trundling down the road in relative peace, an hour or so passes by with the only signs of activity being the sounds of the horse's hooves clattering and the rumbling of the wagon's wheels.
Aside from the occasional squeak of the wheels and the steady downpour, it is an idyllic atmosphere.
Of course, things have been going well enough that I can't help but suspect this is the calm before the storm.
Things always seem to be.
Then again, maybe I'm thinking too hard on this. My life has been shaped by cynicism and bitterness, but somehow everything's changed recently.
