"...Diane." Talia leans into me as she says my name quietly. Her blue eyes study the child who is happily running circles around the living room.
Another little girl - one of Lucas' servants' children - runs with her.
The two girls giggle as they race in their circles.
Talia lowers her voice so she's just barely audible above their noise. "What's the story here?"
I purse my lips.
My younger sister is shrewd.
Not that such a question is unusual to ask, when I left without a kid and come back with a child who's definitely not mine.

There's a certain tone to her voice that tells me she already suspects the truth.
