Little May keeps yawning long after we're up and out of the camp, back on the path to Norguard. I ruffle her hair gently. "Still tired?"
She nods with another adorable little yawn that reveals her slightly protruding teeth as she raises her hands to rub at her eyes.
It's so cute that I feel an almost irresistible urge to grab her and hug her tight and not let go.
I have the self control not to do that, though. "You can lean on me and nap if you want. I won't let you fall." I tell her earnestly with a serious nod to emphasize the truthfulness of my statement.
Her face scrunches up into a pout for a brief moment.
May considers it for a couple of seconds before her lips twitch upwards into a reluctant smile and she nods slowly while replying to me in a soft, hesitant voice. "M'kay..."
"Good girl." I lean over and kiss her temple, and she leans her head against me.
