Chapter 173 - After the Storm

As Eliza predicted, the storm finally dies down by next morning, and we exit the manor to inspect the damage caused by the wind and flooding.

The grounds are covered with debris and mud from fallen trees and shrubbery, and puddles of murky water flood the road leading to the main gate.

There is extensive damage done to the surrounding property as well, and the fence surrounding the house has been toppled over by strong winds, though it was always something a dainty little fence made for aesthetics rather than any observable purpose.

Many of the smaller trees in the garden have been snapped off completely, and their broken trunks lie strewn across the ground.

Several large branches litter the lawn and a pile of them lies in front of the steps leading to the door, as if the wind had whipped them all up into a pile.
