Chapter 143 - Hometown Memories

The streets of Kastellos are, indeed, even more busy and full of life than I anticipated.

Hawkers scream and shout in the hopes of their wares being noticed. Women rush through the streets with armfuls of bread and fabric like they're all late for important dates. Sailors haul cargo. Children run and laugh and play.

Where a few entertainers still performed in the night, now the streets are full of them. People play instruments, dance, and even have men on stilts dressed up like some kind of terrifying animal with fangs.

While the architecture doesn't bear many signs of Kastellos' place as a port town, the people do. The mixture of faces, shades, hair, and dress style is unlike anything I've seen anywhere else in Latrides.

I suspect many survivors of those kingdoms who fled the decaying kingdoms during the war went to Kastellos, due perhaps to its familiarity.
