Slamming into the ground and nearly breaking my back really isn't what I'd consider an enjoyable experience.

But I'd take it a hundred times over compared to the horror of the Forbidden Lands.

I gawk at the world that seems to be tearing itself apart, stopping only a few feet from where we are.

Everything outside of that point simply ends. It's as if all life ceased to exist past the boundary line of the Forbidden Lands. There's nothing out there anymore, except...

An emptiness. An absence.

My mind races and my stomach churns with dread as I realize I cannot explain it in any language that exists. I can't even think of words to describe the horror of it.

It's terrifyingly unnatural. It's not supposed to be here. It's not part of reality, this space in which everything once existed.

The screams of the damned echo faintly in my ears.

Lucas shivers as if a sudden cold breeze washed over him. "We were..."
