We arrive in the Forbidden Lands after nightfall, the forest grows thick around us. There's nothing specifically designating the entrance to the Forbidden Lands, as the area is much too large to efficiently do so.
Still, everyone knows the general boundaries of it, and there can be no question the forest itself is where they begin
It looks...normal.
It's creepy, sure.
But it doesn't look like it's anything different. There's nothing immediately obvious to suggest we've moved from safety to danger except that any signs of human activity have long faded from this place.
Dense thickets of bushes and shrubs line the roadway, with vines crawling down from the canopy above us.
Everywhere I turn there seems to be an abundance of foliage and plants everywhere, some which I don't recognize.
It's almost claustrophobic, even after Roland and I clear cut some of it with our swords.
