Chapter 100 - The Third Key

For a long time there's silence, as Henri stares at Roland, as if trying to read his thoughts and divine the truth.

It's so long that a part of me can't help but wonder if King Henri actually can read minds somehow. I've never heard such stories in specific, but what royal figure didn't have vague rumors about impossible knowledge?

And a man who previously had access to something like the Angel's Tear might really have given himself such an ability.

Probably.

I don't really know how the Tear works myself, after all.

But...

If he had, I imagine we'd already be in much worse straits than we are.

...Finally, Henri shakes his head and sighs.

"In you, Roland, my trust is great. But the very first sign that you lie, or that you seek to use the Tear yourself, will turn you into this kingdom's most hunted man, along with your group."
