Standing opposite the paying counter, Calix ordered two ice creams. Irene told him to bring her to this ice cream shop – Moo's Happy Scoop. He needed to do a short detour to go to Jadeite Peak later.
"Please take your orders there, mister," instructed the female staff, smiling brightly at Calix.
After slipping his credit card back into his wallet, Calix went to wait at the other side of the counter. His towering figure in a customized navy blue suit attracted attention.
Irene and Leslie were waiting for him at a corner of the shop, sitting next to the floor-to-ceiling glass wall. It was a table for four. Calix deliberately chose that one when Irene pointed to a two-seater table earlier.
