The exhausted little Calliope ate dinner with her eyes half-opened. She kept dozing off when Calix carried her upstairs to her bedroom.
"Seashells... sandcastle... Poppy's ah..."
Calix and Leslie exchanged an amused look upon listening to Calliope's sleeptalk. The dashing rocket from this afternoon was no more, replaced by a deflated balloon.
Well, their little one would have boundless energy for tomorrow's adventure. That was for sure.
After tucking Calliope in bed, Calix and Leslie went to the room next door. They headed to the balcony, intending to enjoy the cool night breeze and the melody of the waves.
