Despite the raging turbulence in Leslie's heart, a sense of ease eventually filtered through the storm. The unforeseen appearance of the comfortable feelings made it bearable to pretend she was genuinely fine.
This was nothing. She had gone through the worst and, she believed the truth of this situation would bring something—most likely a wonderful one—to her in the end.
Gently squeezing Calix's right hand, Leslie softly asked, "What else happened, Calix? Please, tell me more. Did you... find yourself in that man's body in each dream?"
