Enveloped in Calix's embrace, Leslie quietly looked into his eyes, finding him returning the same gaze to her. She swore she could hear his heart pounded heavily despite him appearing calm.
Or, was it her heartbeat?
She couldn't tell anymore.
The orange glow of the underbed lights illuminated the man's frame, intertwining the lights and shadows on his countenance. She found herself mesmerized by his smiling face.
Calix let out a chuckle. Keeping his arm steadily behind Leslie's back, he brushed her bangs with his other hand, letting his fingertips graze her forehead.
"Sleep," Calix softened his smile. His voice had a hint of suppressed joy, "We need to wake up earlier than usual."
Blinking, Leslie pursed her lips into a straight line. She was conscious of his muscular arms wrapping her frame. The heat emanating from his body seeped under her skin, further warming her up.
"You go to sleep too... Close your eyes ah..."
