Calix's eyes traced the skyline of the city, looking beyond the vicinity of the manor. His worried countenance was reflected in the glass panels of the windows. A rare hint of displeasure clouded his eyes.
'Evelyn herself can be too stubborn.'
Shrugging, Calix let out a sigh of helplessness as he continued thinking of Evelyn. His genuine worry for his younger sister weighed his mind.
Despite planning to reveal the scum man's deceit after gathering concrete evidence, it wouldn't be enough.
'Eve will be mad with me. That's for sure.'
Calix could predict what Evelyn's reaction would be. Aside from being sad and heartbroken over the trash's betrayal, she would get mad at him—Calix—for meddling with her personal life.
'I'm doing what I can. It's better than Dad and Elder Brother know about this.'
