"I think I've made a good decision. Isn't it?"
The echo of Calix's murmur was only audible to himself. Lying on the mattress of his bedroom, his gaze traced the carvings engraved on the ceiling.
"She looked so happy... I'm glad."
In the silence of the midnight, Calix recalled the rest of his conversation with Leslie that happened earlier. The surprised look on her face was vividly conjured in his mind.
"Did you... just say you want to celebrate... your birthday there? With the... children?"
Calix replied to Leslie's question with a nod of his head.
"If you feel better, I can bring you to visit the child there. Since we're at it, I think of throwing a party with the children. It's the weekend so, we won't be disturbing their schedule."
