Chapter 13 - Lights, Camera, Everwyn II

Walking into the room he was accompanied by his mother Katherine. When all the judges saw him they instantly started to murmur among themselves.

"He looks promising"

"He looks exactly how I pictured Soren Stormwind would look."

"I agree!"

"Slow down! let's see him act first."

"Can you introduce yourself?" Alexander nodded.

"Hello, my name is Alexander Evergreen I'm 13 years old."

"Good ok here are a couple scenes. You can interpret them in your own style."

"Ok," he responded briefly glancing at the script. He recognized the scene instantly it takes place in the courtyard of the Arcane Academy, where students are practicing their magical skills. Soren stands alone, surrounded by swirling winds and crackling lightning. He's focused, his gaze fixed on the elements he's manipulating. Alice approaches, watching him with a mixture of awe and curiosity.

"Before I start I was wondering if I could ask for my friend to read Alice's lines for me?" The judges looked at each other before nodding.

"Sure that's not a problem."

Alexander thanked them and quickly ran to grab Alice. soon they both walked in Alice looked around slightly confused and nervous.

"Wow, are you here today to audition for Alice?"

"Uhm yeah"

"That's perfect what's your name?"

"Alice Montgomery"

"Wow, your name is Alice as well what a coincidence. You look just like the book's description of her." Alexander had to fight back a laugh from escaping if only they knew she was the inspiration.

After a brief talk, they got down to business. After Alice read the script she instantly recognized the scene. They quickly got into character.

Alice approached Alexander cautiously. "Impressive, Soren. You always seem so at ease with the storm magic."

Alexander paused, glancing at Alice. "It's all about control, precision. Storm magic isn't forgiving of mistakes."

Alice nodded. "I can imagine. It's just... I've never seen anyone wield elemental magic like you do. It's like you're in complete harmony with the storm."

Alexander smirked slightly. "Harmony, huh? It's more about understanding its power and knowing how to direct it. The storm has a rhythm, a dance. You have to be willing to follow its lead."

Alice raised an eyebrow. "A dance with lightning? That sounds dangerous."

Alexander chuckled. " Dangerous, yes, but also exhilarating. There's nothing quite like the rush of commanding the elements, feeling the wind respond to your will, and watching lightning answer your call."

Alice hesitated. "I've always been drawn to fire, but it's... unpredictable."

Alexander nodded. "Fire is passionate, untamed. But storm magic requires discipline. You have to be patient and calculating. Each strike of lightning is precise, calculated."

Alice gazed at Alexander thoughtfully. "You make it sound almost poetic."

Alexander smiles. "Magic has a language of its own, Alice. Just like words, it's how you choose to use it that matters. The storm can be destructive, yes, but it can also be a force for renewal, for change."

Alice sighs. "I wish I had your confidence with magic. I'm still trying to find my footing."

Alexander steps closer. "Alice, you have elemental magic. Fire is passionate, just like you. Embrace that passion, but also learn to control it. You'll find your rhythm eventually."

Alice meets Alexander's gaze. "Thanks, Soren. It's just... a lot to take in."

Alexander's gaze softens. "We all have our journeys, Alice. Yours is just beginning. And trust me, you have the potential to master your magic, just like anyone else here."

Alice smiles. "Coming from you, that means a lot."

Alexander gives a small nod. "Keep practicing, Alice. You'll get there."

Alex turns his attention back to the 'swirling winds and lightning', and Alice watches for a moment before walking away. As she leaves, a determined expression settles on her face, inspired by Soren's words of encouragement.

"Amazing!"

"I agree where were you two hiding this whole time?"

Applause engulfed the room.

The audition went surprisingly well for both of them and they found themself falling into the role with a natural ease that surprised even each other.

The casting process was a whirlwind of emotions, as they both auditioned for their respective roles. The room was filled with anticipation as they performed the scene, channeling the essence of their characters from the books. Alexander and Alice let their parents handle the rest of the discussion. When it was over, they left the audition room with a sense of accomplishment though they didnt give any direct answers it was evident that they were number one on the list.

Days turned into weeks as they waited for the production company's decision. In the meantime, Alexander continued to work closely with the creative team, offering input on the script, costume design, and set direction.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and painted the sky with hues of orange and pink, The Evergreen's phone rang. He answered it and it was the production company. His heart raced as he listened to their words.

When the other side stopped talking Alexander finally answered.

"Yes thank you very much." After a brief back and forth Alexander hung up the phone.

Alice, who had been sitting beside him, noticed his expression. "What is it, Alex?"

He looked up, his face breaking into a wide grin. "We got the roles, Alice! We're going to be in the movie!"

Alice's eyes widened with a mixture of excitement and disbelief. "No way, Alex! Are you serious?"

He nodded fervently, unable to contain his joy. "Absolutely serious! They loved our auditions, and they think we're the perfect fit for Soren and Alice!"

A rush of emotions flooded over Alice, and she couldn't help but let out a joyful squeal. "Oh my gosh, this is incredible! I can't believe it!"

The two friends shared a hug, their elation palpable. Sakura, who had been nearby, rushed over, sensing the excitement. "What's going on? Why are you guys so hyped?"

Alexander and Alice exchanged a glance before breaking the news. "We got the roles, Sakura! We're going to be in the movie!"

Sakura's eyes widened in surprise. "You're kidding, right?"

"What you didn't think we could do it?" Alexander joked.

"Of course, I did it just kinda surreal. Congratulations you two!" she quickly joined in the celebratory hug.
