Chapter 15 - Sir Rasoul in Sundance

Ding...

[Quest: Teach the heir of the Charles Great family some manners]

[He is known to harass females in the Kingdom, but due to his family backing, nobody was able to do anything to him]

[Additional Info: He is a Grandmaster Realm Cultivator]

[Reward: It will be measured based on your performance]

>>Hidden Reward

Even without this quest, Rasoul had a bone to pick with this guy and was determined to school him. He had a rocky history dealing with these self-proclaimed 'families.' At first, he entertained thoughts of ending him, but upon receiving the quest message, Rasoul glimpsed an opportunity to humble him and snag some mysterious hidden reward. Swiveling on his heels, he strolled toward the heir, who still seethed with anger over Rasoul's earlier remarks.

"Why the sour expression? Spare me the act; you can't be ignorant of your idiocy. You spot a gorgeous damsel, and instead of turning on your charm, you opt for intimidation. And as if that weren't disgraceful enough, you throw around your so-called family name as a threat. If that doesn't peg you as a certified idiot, I don't know what does."

"What if I am to tell you now that the lady you tried intimidating right now is a Princess of another Kingdom? Do you think your family name will be able to save you?

Your family must be scraping the bottom of the barrel if they crowned you as their heir. An imbecile like you doesn't cut it for that position, but then again, great families sometimes disappoint.

Before you kick off with your threats or dial your big brother for backup, understand that you are only alive now because I am holding myself back. Having the title of heir doesn't grant you a free pass to act however you please.

Let it sink in: you're breathing because I allowed it. I don't crave attention, but if you even think about going after her again, I'll show you what pain looks like.

The crowd started gathering around them. They couldn't believe their eyes. The fact that Rasoul continues to school the heir without him doing anything started gathering murmurs

"He's a goner. This fella must have a death wish..."

"What a shame...

"A young, good-looking lad is going to meet his end simply because he couldn't zip it."

"Does he even grasp who he was mouthing off to?

"I think what he's up to is downright romantic – a handsome bloke standing up for his lady..."

"Finally, someone needs to school this Great family."

"Hush, keep it down. We don't know who might be eavesdropping. Better be mindful of where we hail from before plunging ourselves into this predicament."

Many felt pity for Rasoul, who tangled up with the heir, while others applauded his guts for standing up to protect Lara from a bully and predator. Given the heir's notorious reputation, everyone knew what he was capable of. Rasoul's decision to confront him was deemed foolhardy or downright courageous.

Furiously, the heir threatened, "Are you courting death? Do you even know who I am? Aware of my capabilities? If you kneel and apologize, I might grant you a swift and merciful death." He screamed out loud trying to intimidate Rasoul.

Mockingly, Rasoul retorted, "You, a buffoon and a disgrace to all mankind, want me to bow and say sorry to you. What does that make me if I comply? Son, I don't bow to anyone. But just for kicks, I'll play along with your little game. Drop on all fours and apologize to this fine lady, and perhaps I'll spare your face from a makeover," Rasoul declared, taking Lara's hand and positioning her beside him.

Lara blushed slightly, earning the envy of onlooking women for having such a brave man exclusively by her side.

"I'll show your limits, Ricky Micky, get him," the heir commanded, directing his two trusted underlings to take down Rasoul. However, before they could even advance a few steps, they crumpled to the ground, knocked out cold. The abrupt turn of events sent shivers down the spines of onlookers.

Gasps and shock etched across everyone's faces. Witnessing two Grandmaster Realm cultivators hit the ground without a single move left the crowd and the heir in terror. The heir was ready to order the remaining subordinates, but before he could, they also collapsed and lost consciousness.

Sabrat looked at the happening with a curious gaze. He couldn't put a finger on it since all he felt was an Aura exuding from his Master. Rasoul had used his Aura to incapacitate five Grandmaster Cultivators effortlessly.

Unbeknownst to Sabrat, it wasn't just Rasoul's aura but the God of War's aura bestowed upon him as a blessing. Though he is not powerful enough to wield it extensively, using it for a brief moment to teach a lesson seemed within Rasoul's grasp. Calmly, Rasoul started walking toward the heir with Lara still in his arms.

"I already handed you the manual for apologies, but it seems you missed the memo. So, let me reiterate. Drop down on all fours, crawl over here, and apologize to this lovely lady. Since no one bothered to school you in manners, consider me your teacher" Rasoul promptly infused Mana into the Aura, seizing control of the heir's body. With the Aura's strength, manipulating the heir's movements posed no difficulty for Rasoul.

"My brilliant yet cheeky assistant suggested I impart some lessons to you.

[Watch your tone, host.]

"Sorry..." The system expressed dissatisfaction with Rasoul's address; their relationship was akin to bickering siblings, constantly at odds over trivial matters.

"Firstly, mind your manners and don't force yourself onto others, even if you're the Emperor. Everyone has their rights, and just because you're in the upper echelon doesn't grant you the privilege to treat them however you please. Respect their privacy and refrain from imposing on them.

"Secondly, never assume that having power elevates you above everyone else. This world is vast, and individuals in the open world are often mightier than you imagine. A mere Grandmaster like yourself would be no more than cannon fodder in their presence.

"Lastly, refrain from using your family name as a means to intimidate people. Instead, leverage it to assist others."

While Rasoul delivered his lecture, the heir, now under Rasoul's control, started crawling, leaving onlookers in awe. The formidable Jude Charleson is moving like a puppy on all four, an astonishing sight. Upon reaching Rasoul and Lara, the heir came to a halt, and that's when Rasoul triggered a recently unlocked ability.

[Mind Manipulation - Active]

>>The Host can fuse Mana into this ability to apply pressure on the minds of others.

>> The Host can delve into the minds of others and manipulate their thoughts.

--This ability synergizes well with illusion-type abilities.

[Note: The Host is advised to acquire illusion-type abilities.]

Rasoul had unlocked this mind-bending power a day into their road trip. He hadn't used it yet since he lacked the perfect specimen. However, with the heir now under his control, he decided to utilize it to his advantage.

Rasoul projected thoughts into the heir's mind using the Mind Manipulation ability. Under duress, he unconsciously uttered, "I apologize for my earlier inappropriate behavior. I'm just a fool trying to appear impressive but ended up uttering foolish things. Please, find it in your beautiful heart to forgive me. A lovely fairy-like yourself deserves a companion truly worthy of you."

For someone who was ignored and hated by her own family for centuries, Lara couldn't help but let a tear or two fall down her face. For the first time in her life, somebody stood up for her; something he never thought she would ever experience in her life.

Observing Lara's emotional reaction, Rasoul decided it was time to conclude the spectacle. He had already achieved his goal, so there was no need to stay there any longer.

"I'm confident our paths will intersect again. Just a friendly reminder: behave well, or it won't be a mere lesson again," Rasoul spoke in a cold tone. Witnessing the scene sent shivers down the spines of those present.

The system chimed in immediately he let go of his Aura. Out of curiosity, he decided to check it out first.

He promptly accessed the Slave Seal.

[Slave Seal]

>> The Host can implant a seal in the minds of others, effectively preventing them from betraying.

>> The Host can communicate telepathically with slaves from any location.

>> For 5 minutes daily, the Host can perceive through the eyes of his slaves.

>> Slaves are incapable of disobeying the Host's commands.

-- The Host can place the Seal with consent or induce stress to weaken mental capacity.

[Note: Host can apply a slave seal up to two realms above him]

Rasoul wasted no time as he immediately decided to place the seal on the broken heir and his subordinates.

'That's more like it,' Rasoul exclaimed inwardly, a subtle smile on his face.

'Go back and ensure you answer when I call.'

He telepathically commanded the heir while strolling away, still holding Lara's hand.

A perplexed expression dawned on the heir's and his subordinates' faces. But without the will to ignore Rasoul's command, they were left with no choice but to obey and accept their fate.

As Rasoul and his companions entered the Identity Guild building, an older woman warmly greeted them, prompting Rasoul to exercise caution.

[Host, be careful around her. She is a Saint and the Sect Master of the Light Sword Sect.]

Since Lara had warned them about the sects, Rasoul understood the old woman's potential intentions. He knew he had to navigate this encounter with care, so he went straight to the point to avoid further inquiries from her. "Hello, we would like to register with the Identity Guild."

"But of course. Can I know where you three are from?" The old lady inquired with a hint of curiosity.

"We are travelers. Sundance Kingdom happens to be our current destination," Rasoul replied, maintaining an unchanged expression.

The older woman observed them briefly before granting permission to enter.

'I must get my hands on them before those old bastards catch wind of them,' the old woman contemplated.
