I was getting ready for the office in my 3 piece suit after completing my daily workout in the gym. I got down and went to the kitchen to make my coffee and greeted my mom " Good morning " and asked " Is my breakfast ready "
My mom Anitha Kulkarni who is sitting on the dining table with her phone didn"t respond me today in her usual sweet voice. So, once again I wished her, No reply, I called her again
"Amma". "Ms Anitha " I called her again.
(Amma means MOM )
Now she did see me with narrowed eyes and said "Good Morning".
So I asked her "Amma breakfast". She glared at me and replied "go and ask Your wife".
I was flabbergasted hearing her, and said " I don't have a wife maa"
My maa said " If you marry then you will get a wife".
I was staring at her blankly,
she continued " you will turn 30 in 6 months and yet you aren't married,see your friend who have a 3 year old daughter and a lovely wife"
"Amma it's not that I don't want to get married, it's just that I am not finding the girl I want, and even you know who ever I met till now are behind me either for money or my looks not for me maa, Arjun who is behind that cold face " I said to her.
She literally stared at me for 1 minute and said " Ok beta I understood, I will give you 6 months and find a girl for yourself or marry the girl who I choose as I don't want to die without seeing my grandchildren"
I was angry when she said that "Amma please don't say such things, Ok I will try, If I don't this I'll do as you say". I said to her
She was happy hearing my reply " Now come, today I made your favourite dosa" she made our breakfast. While I was having my breakfast my little brother came and wished me good morning and we 3 together had breakfast talking about random things.
After that I started going out my mom came and gave me a kiss on my forehead wishing me luck. This is our daily routine.
I started towards my office in my Benz G-Class.
Hey I didn't Introduce myself right, I am Arjun Kulkarni and I live with my mom Anitha kulkarni and brother Abhiram Kulkarni who just returned from london for holidays and my father died when I was 9 years old and my mom, my Iron lady took over my dad's school as he is used to run an International school and took care of us and along with the group of schools and now she even run different NGOs by herself. Although we are not billionaire like you see in novels but rich enough.
I started my own startup after my graduation from NIT Madras in computer science. And I am 29. So, My typical Indian mom is in hurry to get me married as she wants to play with her grandkids. Typical Indian Mother. Although we live in Mumbai our native is south India and I never went there after my father's death. I never had a girlfriend and still waiting for the love of my life who will make my heart race just with her smile like in those bollywood movies I saw.
I forgot to say I have a best friend Avinash Malhotra who married the love of his life 4 years back and now have a 3year old daughter.
So, this is my life which revolves around my family and my company.
I arrived my office and kept my facade of being cold ready to face all the gruesome meetings today not knowing about the upcoming storm which takes me on a roller coaster journey of emotions.

I woke up at 5am and did my daily routine and did yoga for 1hr as it is my daily routine and got ready for my office and I have a very important meeting today with the investor. I got down and greeted my mom and my little annoying brother who is currently goofing around with my mom. Both of the smiled seeing me and wished me good morning and I ate breakfast with my parents and started for my office. Before I step out my mom asked me " Nishu did you think about your marriage"
And as usual I replied " No mom I didn't and you know I don't believe in this marriage thing right".
She said " Yes beta I know but just try to meet people and see, why don't you see on the brighter side of the marriage and love and give it a try"
I said " OK" and started for my office bidding bye to my brother.
Hey guys, I myself Nisha Varma, Nick name " Nishu" living in hyderabad with my parents.
My mom Arya Varma is a professor who teaches typical microbiology and my brother Ayaan Varma just completed his graduation and a wild life photographer, his hobby which turned into passion.
And coming to me I am an entrepreneur, started my own company 4 years back in the Pharma field which is in profits with a turn over of millions.
It took more than 4 years and a lot of connections and investments and hard workk my baby( my company ) is now in the top 100 startups of India.
I don't believe in love and marriage and my only goal currently is to get my company to new heights and support my family and keep them happy.
I am not that cold and serious although I keep that facade in my office, I am childish and bicker with my little brother a lot. And this behaviour of mine comes only in front of my closed ones.
I arrived to my office in my black THAR early today to prepare all the documents and recheck the papers and presentations related to the meetings.
