Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Searching For Ji-Won, Ji-Won Background

"This much blood, I think the injured person is like he goes from here by taking a car," Sergeant Choi said, seeing Detective Choi.

"There is not a CCTV here so we can't be able to find out what happened here," Detective Kim said, looking at the poles. There is no CCTV there and it became a challenge for them to find out anything because this area is very remote.

According to the information, there is a town nearby but the distance from this bus stand to the village is approximately 400 to 500 meters, so there may not be anyone who has heard about this, and of course, finding a warehouse witness is even more impossible.

Sergeant Choi suggested checking the jungle area where they came to this point. "If someone was injured and fled the scene in a hurry, they might have left some evidence behind," he proposed.

Detective Kim, appreciating the insight, immediately called Eun-ho to get the backup officers and start searching every corner of the forest road from the warehouse point. They both started searching from the bus stop location.

The detectives, accompanied by additional officers, carefully combed through the jungle area surrounding the bus stop and warehouse. The dense foliage and uneven terrain made the search challenging, but Sergeant Choi's intuition urged them forward.

As they progressed along the forest road from the warehouse point, Detective Kim noticed some broken branches and disturbed foliage. He pointed it out to the team, signaling that someone might have passed through recently. The officers followed the trail.

After a short distance, they stumbled upon a small clearing where they discovered a wallet or ID card. "Sir, we got something here," they said to Detective Kim and wanted him to examine it.

When Detective Kim took the wallet, his eyes widened, and he stood there like a frozen sculpture.

"Sir, what happened? Whose ID card is this, and why is there so much sweat on your forehead?" Sergeant Choi asked him.

But Detective Kim didn't answer him but continued to check the ID card and opened it. And what he guessed was confirmed, and he became fearful.

Not getting any answer from Detective Kim, Sergeant Choi went to his side and took the wallet from his hand. When he saw the ID card, he also froze and said tremblingly, "S-Sir, this is...."

Detective Kim took a deep breath and then said firmly, "Call the Headquarters. We will have to find her at all costs. Connect me to the chief and go with the other officer to the town to find any information if possible."

"NOW!" Detective Kim shouted at them and told them to start working.

The urgency in Detective Kim's voice prompted immediate action from the team. Sergeant Choi fumbled with his radio, quickly establishing a connection with the Headquarters. He relayed the situation and requested an immediate connection to the chief.

While waiting for the chief's response, Detective Kim instructed the additional officers to split up and investigate the town for any leads. His mind was racing, contemplating the possible scenarios surrounding the discovered ID card.

As the chief came on the line, Detective Kim shared the grim news, "Chief, we found an ID card in the jungle near the bus stop. It belongs to her. We need to act fast. Send backup, initiate a search, and notify the relevant authorities. We can't afford to lose any time."

When the chief heard this, there was silence on his side, but then he asked in a cold, angry, and demanding voice, "Whose ID card did you find, and what the hell is happening?"

Then Detective Kim also calmed down, and there was tension and worry on his face. "We... We found Ji-Won's police ID card in the jungle where there is a trail of blood coming from. It is possible that she is injured."

Without giving Detective Kim a chance to speak further, the chief on the other side spoke in a voice like an angry demon, "WHAT... What did you say? What happened to my Ji-Won?"

From there, we concluded that the police chief is Ji-Won's father, and that's why Detective Kim called the chief when he got Ji-Won's ID card because he knew the chief would do anything to find her daughter. Detective Kim feared the chief's reaction because he was very well aware of the chief's personality. The chief loved his daughter very much and would do anything to find her. Detective Kim was 100 percent sure of this.

"Sir, please listen to me first. We only assume this because this may also be the blood of the drug lord. There may be a possibility that, while fighting with the drug lord, the ID card was dropped in the jungle, and she is chasing him to find," Detective Kim added this without taking a breath, fearing the chief's anger and cursing.

By hearing this, the Chief calmed down a bit. "OK, I am giving the order now and the rest of the police force, medical team will rush to come there, and I am personally going to check every CCTV camera footage from that area. Send the information you received until now and continue to find her. Also, don't think about anything, I will handle everything. You have full power to find her," said the Chief.

Detective Kim became happy hearing this. "I am assuring you, sir, I will find her at all costs." Then he cut the phone call, and both the Chief and Detective Kim started doing their best to find Ji-Won as their team member and as her father.
