Chapter 403: Time Flies
Time seemed to pass in the blink of an eye.
Just five minutes had gone by.
With a variety of soul skills, William successfully exorcised Lanze's possessed soul and shattered it with a single powerful punch.
There was no escape.
In this world, the rule was that all injuries were real injuries.
All William needed was to physically subdue Lanze, using his superior strength to restrain Lanze's movements and prevent him from casting Spells. Then, he could utilize various soul magic techniques to rectify the situation.
One had to admit that the magic of the Blue Moon people seemed a bit outdated. Who needed incantations and seals to cast Spells in this day and age?
It looked impressive, but could being handsome provide a meal?
Well, it seemed like it might work too. William scratched his head.
At this moment, the spatial blockade disappeared.
And at this very moment, people saw William carrying Lanze, who was now completely naked. Lanze's eyes had a dazed look as if he didn't know how to react.
Xuejialiu's situation was equally unfortunate. He was skillfully tied to a stick, resembling a dead pig ready for roasting. He seemed oblivious to the fact that he might be on the menu.
No one said much. No one paid attention to Xuejialiu's constant shouting. They avoided some short-tentacled squid monsters and fought off some long-tentacled ones, eventually making their way outside the palace's gates.
The Marsh Octopuses were also advancing toward the palace.
Time was of the essence.
Fortunately, the palace was empty and posed no threat.
Or perhaps the real threat lay in the three beings that were possessed.
Unfortunately, man was not always in control.
Even if they possessed three individuals, they might not be able to use the Swamp Squid's tentacles to eliminate everyone else and return to their godly realm, leaving those people behind.
But the unlucky "Son of the God of Space" met his demise at the hand of William's left hand, infused with the power of Thunder God .
It was indeed a tragic tale.
William carefully glanced around and was about to enter the palace. Lanze, who had just regained consciousness, struggled to stand on his own, then quickly retrieved a spare magic robe from his space ring and put it on.
He paid no attention to the curious gazes of the others but gave a complex look to the Highness Prince, blinking his blue eyes, and spoke in a hesitant tone, "Thank you, Your Highness William, for saving my life."
"No problem at all. I got my fair share of benefits. Just be sure to wake up," William replied, patting his space ring, indicating he had taken everything he needed. All that was left was to open the door.
The Blue Moon's prince's expression remained unchanged, but he did feel a bit downcast. He had thought William only wanted the gloves; why did he have to take his clothes as well? Was he planning something inappropriate?
Lanze was frightened for a moment. He had just been possessed, and though he had no control over his body at the time, he could still see, hear, and feel everything that happened.
The possessing soul wasn't exceptionally powerful, but the Abyssal aura made him powerless to resist. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, his ancestors would likely be completely assimilated by the Abyss world, receiving some sort of dark blessing in return.
However, he still retained his memories, which left him confused for the time being.
What William didn't expect, though, was that Lanze's favorability towards him had increased by 150 Points.
Huh? What's going on here? Your tastes are quite unusual, my friend. Could it be Stockholm syndrome? Do you need my uncle to recommend a mental hospital?
"Let's move on and find the door," Delosis called out, and the group quickly gathered around him. They saw a small black sphere floating in mid-air, with spatial rifts spreading outward from it, resembling a miniature black hole.
But this sphere was their gateway out of this place.
The three factions didn't waste any time and worked together to open the door.
The small black sphere continued to expand, creating a spatial rift that would soon be large enough for them to exit.
As the palace continued to crumble, squid tentacles began to snake their way in, but the group didn't hesitate and left the area.
They reappeared in the land of the gods, the original Black Dragon's Lair, with the collapsed palace beneath their feet.
But the spatial doorway was still expanding.
The effects of spatial overlap were evident as the blood mist appeared to seep into their world from another dimension. They could even catch a glimpse of the Abyssal Squid creatures through the doorway, tentacles reaching out.
When Delosis, Lanze, Blood Armor Three, and the bound Blood Armor Six saw this scene, they warned William, "The greater the spatial overlap and diffusion, the harder it is to control. To save your territory, you must seek out the Sage to resolve this matter."
William smiled confidently and said, "Leave it to me."
His mission was to retrieve the Space Magic Staff and address the issue of spatial overlap at its source.
Without any prior warning, the Space Lord, the Throne, emitted a spatial fluctuation.
The spatial doorway rapidly shrank, turning into a small black sphere, and finally vanished.
Mission accomplished.
William let out a sigh of relief. He glanced around at his companions, leaving only Lanze, Delosis, Blood Armor Three, and the captive Blood Armor Six.
No further words were exchanged.
Upon leaving the underground area filled with corpses and emerging into the sunlight once more, they each went their separate ways.
Blood Armor Three took the bound Blood Armor Six, rose into the air, and swiftly departed.
After nodding to William, Delosis also led his group away.
Lanze, the only one remaining, took the initiative to exchange contact information with William before departing in a hurry.
Burned Cinder and Diablo exchanged puzzled glances. What was going on? Could Py's power be so great that it could earn him this much favor by simply robbing someone of their belongings?
William couldn't be bothered with their questions. As he flew back to the Nightmare Forest, he opened his information box to check his task rewards.
[Ding: Completion of Abyss World Invasion]
[Task Completion: 53%]
[Ding: Reward 820000 Experience Points]
[Ding: Reward Talent - "Heart of Justice"]
Talent - Heart of Justice: You possess a heart filled with justice, kindness, and fearlessness. You will not compromise in the face of Abyssal creatures and have the courage to protect the gods from invasion.
You gain a 20% resistance against negative effects such as mind control, mental invasion, and mental damage.
"What a fantastic task reward, and the word 'justice' fits perfectly with my character setting," William remarked, raising an eyebrow.
However, he suddenly realized that by seizing the Space Staff, he might have completed the task. Yet, being completely controlled would have prevented him from completing it.
Perhaps the "Heart of Justice" talent was granted to him to deal with such situations.
At the same time, a message came through on his voice scroll.
William's expression changed rapidly as he read the message, and he couldn't help but clench his fist in frustration. "No
!"
Nothing more needed to be said.
The war in the Far North had intensified even further, attracting the attention of many Epic Level bosses.
The scale of the war in the Far North had escalated.
Now, legends were commonplace.
Epic Level powerhouses were preparing to join the battle.
"Darn it, it's only been a few months, and my Dragon Blood Corps hasn't completed its mission yet," William muttered to himself, shaking his fist. He glanced at his experience, which had reached level 125.
He still had 15 levels to go before reaching the epic level.
Tian Duo had even less experience; he needed to level up to 140.
At the very least, before the next game update and the departure of players, he needed to reach level 140 and make his mark in the ten-year-long War of Bloodshed. After all, this was an empire-level conflict, and high-level and Grandmaster Level Professionals would be needed to fight it to its conclusion.
William immediately led his group back to the Nightmare Forest and contemplated, "Now there are players who have already reached Advanced Levels. Although they are still a minority, I need to push them to level up faster. The faster they level up, the more Experience Point they will contribute to equipment, secrets, and skills. It's time for me to gather a new wave of resources."
