Chapter 45 - Chapter 401

Chapter 401

The revelation of the mysterious baby caught everyone's attention simultaneously. However, your Highness, William, didn't forget to cast another ice Spell on the ground. After all, the massive abyssal creature before them still had some life left in it. It made sense to seize the opportunity, especially when a Forbidden Spell scroll was involved, potential rewards were worth the risk.

But Delosis, hovering kilometers above the ground, wasn't concerned about the abyss monster. He knew the creature couldn't reach him with its tentacles, and he wasn't interested in gaining experience by killing monsters. His entire focus was on what the monster had ejected.

The object expelled by the monster was none other than a scepter, approximately one meter in length. Delosis and Badlit, with their extraordinary perception, recognized its significance as a relic from a mythical age. It remained undamaged, underscoring its importance.

Delosis, almost instinctively, opened the scepter at the same time it appeared.

A brilliant burst of endless flames and a radiant beam of light enveloped the area, creating a massive shockwave that rippled outwards. William and the others were momentarily repelled by the force unleashed.

However, Burned Cinder and Diablo, shields of arcane energy protecting them, held their ground with unwavering determination, sustaining injuries in the process.

Simultaneously, each of them was clutching over a dozen Forbidden art scrolls in their hands. Over a dozen scrolls, this abundance of power was a double-edged sword. While their strength was formidable, it also carried the risk of destroying their surroundings and themselves.

"Stop! Halt!" Delosis urgently realized that some of the scrolls were on the verge of breaking, and the unleashed magical energy was spiraling out of control. He shouted, both visibly and audibly, trying to mitigate the danger.

"Wang Defa, heroes, please slow down," Badlit urged with trepidation, as he observed the impending catastrophe. He couldn't quite comprehend the audacity of Burned Cinder and Diablo.

In other words, he was deeply envious of their fearless courage. As the Son of the Sun God, he lacked a loyal expert of their caliber, let alone someone willing to lay down their life for him.

Was their bravery limitless?

Moreover, the number of Forbidden art scrolls they wielded was staggering. If they were crushed, everyone present would perish. Badlit couldn't fathom the idea of someone willingly putting their life on the line for their leader, even in a high-stakes situation.

As Delosis and Badlit hesitated, William secured the scepter in his hand. With a nonchalant wave, he exuded an air of confidence and nonchalance. "Cooperation well done," he remarked, clearly unburdened by the situation.

Delosis wore a grim expression. He couldn't help but think, "What a waste. Such a colossal abyss monster, and this is what we get? Did we come here in vain?" His frustration grew as he recognized that William possessed even more potent cards than he had initially thought.

These two talented individuals, Burned Cinder and Diablo, were not only highly capable but also fiercely loyal, which made them particularly exceptional. A Lord with significant combat prowess was already a rarity, but individuals who would willingly lay down their lives for him were even more extraordinary.

And then there were the dozens of Forbidden art scrolls, impressive even by the standards of the Abyss world. Even the Epic Level masters of the gods would hesitate to face them head-on.

However, Epic Level masters would not be as passive as the abyss monster had been. When the field was activated, most Grandmaster Level Professionals had no means of defense.

"Damn it! We've wasted so many scrolls!" Delosis lamented his ill-fated luck.

One of them had been reborn as a god, and the other was the son of a Supreme God. Despite their impressive backgrounds, they couldn't match the neutral Lord in terms of the number of Forbidden art scrolls. Nevertheless, William had obtained the scepter, and despite their dissatisfaction, there was no reason to provoke a confrontation now.

Looting items depended on one's abilities. If they hesitated to gamble against William's group, it would only be an admission of defeat.

In fact, considering the circumstances earlier, if William had used the Forbidden art scrolls to block their escape, Delosis and Badlit would have complied. They believed that William wouldn't jeopardize himself needlessly.

William had no intention of eliminating them, especially considering their potential use in opening the space gate. It was simply a matter of priorities.

With the Scepter in his possession, William could not help but chuckle at the expressions of disappointment on Delosis and Badlit's faces. "An excellent collaboration," he repeated, a hint of amusement in his voice.

Badlit raised an eyebrow, considering the value of the scepter. "This is a legacy of the gods. Are you sure you want to be so nonchalant about it? And what about its strategic utility? This is an impressive artifact."

William swallowed hard, adding, "My father didn't leave me with much Supreme God blood, and I've always envied those who do."

Delosis wore a hint of sadness. As a reincarnated individual, he lacked the divine lineage that The Son Of Supreme God possessed. Yet, this was precisely why he had brought Badlit along. In the face of formidable opponents, if Badlit possessed hidden Supreme God blood, it could be a game-changer.

However, the two Lords each had their own destinies to fulfill, which made them hesitant to put their lives on the line for one another.

When William had successfully retrieved the scepter and turned his attention to the flying monsters, the situation began to escalate. The dark city's abyssal creatures went into a frenzy, akin to a kingdom losing its ruler. All the monsters scrambled to vie for dominance, with those nearest to the City Lord's mansion attempting to devour its massive corpse to grow stronger.

Meanwhile, the creatures within the Magic Nightmare Forest sensed the demise of the ruling power and rushed toward the scene. Even the flying monsters, summoned by the sound of their brethren, flocked to the location, eager to partake in the chaos.

As the blood mist continued to disperse, the group witnessed a rather significant development. William received a notification in his message box:

[Ding: You have defeated the abyssal monster with a body length exceeding 1000 meters and dealt 40% damage.]

[Ding: Reward: 300000 Experience Points.]

[Ding: Reward: '2 Random Draws'.]

"Two random draws?" William mused aloud, intrigued by the possibilities.

Nonetheless, he couldn't help but be curious about the scepter's properties. He examined the item carefully:

(Note: Crafted by the God of Space, but why was this relic left in the Abyss world?)

William couldn't help but exclaim, "This is insane!" as he reviewed the scepter's attributes.

"This is a divine relic, William! Why are you taking this so lightly? And what about the strategic skills? This is remarkable!" Badlit chimed in, bewildered by William's reaction.

Even his Highness, Delosis, couldn't help but voice his concerns, "This is a legacy of the gods, William. Are you sure you want to be so cavalier about it?"

Indeed, the scepter was an astonishing artifact, and its final ability, "Lord of Space - Kingship," was beyond extraordinary.

William had raised the limit of his Intelligence to 1000, and he was a Legendary boss, making him eligible to wield the scepter without restrictions. However, as he considered upgrading it further, he realized that it would require an Intelligence limit of 2000 Points, which he currently didn't possess.

Nonetheless, he couldn't resist trying out the scepter. Raising it high, he gave a playful wave.

In an instant, space itself seemed to tremble, unleashing an incomprehensible spatial fluctuation over a 3000–meter radius. Thousands of flying monsters felt the subtle shockwave, which inflicted damage to their bodies. Their agonized cries filled the air as they plummeted from the sky.

It wasn't a lethal strike against the abyss creatures, but it certainly alleviated some of the pressure.

Badlit raised an eyebrow, recognizing the potential of such a powerful artifact. "This is an extraordinary item; you shouldn't underestimate it," he reiterated.

Delosis, despite his initial disappointment, had to concede the scepter's significance. "You're right. My father didn't leave me much Supreme God blood," he admitted wistfully.

Badlit couldn't help but feel melancholic. As The Son Of Supreme God, he lacked the unspoken blood essence of The Supreme God himself. It was precisely the reason he had chosen to accompany Delosis. In the face of formidable opponents, Badlit might possess the hidden Supreme God blood that could be a game-changer.

However, both Lords had their destinies to fulfill, and neither was willing to recklessly risk their lives for the other. The value of their lives extended beyond their roles as mere tools.

As William continued to wield the scepter, he couldn't help but appreciate its capabilities. "You're right. This is an incredible relic."

Looking around at the flying monsters, he contemplated unleashing more of its powers. After all, he was an exceptional Legendary boss, and his Intelligence had reached 1000 Points, enabling him to harness the scepter's abilities to the fullest.

However, the situation wasn't entirely under control. The group had a sudden realization that they had yet to secure their exit. The "gate" back remained within the underground space, and within the dark chasm, something ominous lurked, hinting at more challenges to come.
