Chapter 367
The unprepared battle against the dragons came to a swift conclusion.
There was no way out.
The frost dragon, though formidable, stood no chance against this team of Legendary boss-level fighters, with Olaf being the only one at a high-level epic. This combination had earned its reputation as the ultimate dragon-slaying squad.
Moreover, William had now achieved the status of a Sage, capable of withstanding damage and dealing significant damage himself. It was a daunting task for the frost dragon to contend with them.
However, in order to prevent the precious dragon blood from spilling, Prince William promptly secured it in his space ring.
After all, dragons were not only at the bottom of the food chain but also at the top of the material world!
Oh, by the way, dragons were also considered the finest ingredient in the culinary industry.
In any case, every part of a dragon's body was a treasure, and wasting it would be an absolute shame.
But just as they were about to leave, a deafening roar echoed in all directions. Massive shockwaves swept in from a distance.
In that moment, the smoke dissipated, the snow settled, and trees within a radius of tens of thousands of meters were blown down.
Everyone was stunned.
They immediately turned to run.
Another frost dragon!
But the roar alone indicated that this dragon was either epic or Legendary in rank.
Prince William halted momentarily as he heard the thunderous sound of the approaching dragon. He quickly retrieved four teleportation scrolls and tossed them to his companions. He and Olaf stayed behind to dig a hole and escape.
After all, he had experience in evading danger in front of a Sage. He was confident in his ability to escape this situation.
Annie also produced several space teleportation scrolls.
No one hesitated.
They crushed the scrolls.
In the next moment, the Legendary frost dragon spread its wings, casting a dark shadow overhead.
But the group remained resolute.
At the very moment the dragon struck the ground, their bodies twisted into the spatial tunnel!
However, the ice dragon still unleashed a violent burst of energy into the surrounding space. It seemed determined to breach the spatial tunnel and expel the intruders.
But their choice of high-quality teleportation scrolls and the frost dragon's limited understanding of space played in their favor. Despite feeling some threat in the spatial tunnel, they managed to disappear into the distance.
The 60–meter-long ice dragon roared with fury and continued to spew cold ice in all directions.
Fury!
Indescribable rage.
This was a female dragon, and many of her offspring had perished at the hands of humans and frost giants. Her best and longest-lived child had met its end at the hands of the Dragon Slaying Team, igniting an uncontrollable fury and a desire for revenge against humans and Elves.
But the humans paid no heed to her emotions.
In the business of dragon-slaying, choosing the right five-colored dragon had nothing to do with notions of justice or evil.
Because five-colored dragons were born troublemakers.
If it weren't for these five-colored dragons' innate penchant for causing trouble with other intelligent beings, who would voluntarily engage in dragon-slaying?
In the far north, whether it was the Behemoths, Frost Giants, human villages, or snow Elves, none had escaped the grasp of the frost dragons. In the eyes of dragons, life weaker than theirs was considered worthless.
Perhaps, from a dragon's perspective, that was the case.
This mindset was inherited from the earliest era, but times had changed. Humans today were at the pinnacle of the entire continent. Dragons devouring humans and humans slaying dragons were a natural part of the world.
So, why didn't anyone bother the gem dragons and metal dragons?
The arrival of the younger sister, the Silver Dragon, in the human world was met with enthusiasm.
If you didn't go looking for trouble, you'd enjoy a comfortable existence. No one troubled you, and you didn't trouble anyone.
…
They went through a thrilling chase but ultimately managed to escape. Using the random spatial teleportation scrolls had sent them in different directions, and the distances were considerable, at least tens of kilometers.
At this distance, unless they were true Sages, it would be difficult for their pursuers to locate them after they concealed their presence.
They weren't reckless.
Their meeting Point was the Snow Elf, Capital City.
As time passed, Olaf was the first to arrive since his teleportation scroll had taken him closest to the Snow Elf, Capital City.
Burned Cinders came next.
Then, Old Leather.
Annie.
Legolas.
They gathered and sent Prince William a message confirming his safety. They waited for more than half an hour until William, the prince, arrived in a hurry.
However, as he approached, the group couldn't help but stare. Half of his body was covered in frost, as though he had been practicing a martial arts technique.
They were taken aback. Could they really have been so unlucky that the frost dragon had managed to hit them even after they entered the spatial tunnel?
The prince was at a loss for words. He couldn't believe it was a matter of luck. He suspected that the teleportation scroll he had used might have been made by Old Band instead of Meixis.
Water test… worked.
Otherwise, he wouldn't be in this state.
He firmly believed that he couldn't be that unlucky.
"Your Highness, would you like to use a drop of the Water of Life? Your current condition seems quite debilitating," Old Leather suggested, observing his unsteady gait.
"The Water of Life from your family came from a strong wind. Do you think I'm made of money?" William waved him off and continued, "Hold on a moment. I'll find someone to help me thaw this frost. Let's go."
There was no other way.
This was the Frost Breath of a Legendary dragon, far beyond William's capabilities. Even though he had been hit just once in the spatial tunnel, he still had a debuff that would last for 10 hours, causing him to continue losing Health Point.
But it was only half a day.
William and the others had returned from slaying the dragon, leaving many Snow Elves astounded.
Was this dragon-slaying team simply too lucky?
The Snow Elves indeed maintain numerous dragon-hunting teams, venturing into places where dragons are known to frequent. Even in the span of a month, encountering a dragon, let alone a formidable Beast dragon, is a rarity.
But what exactly constitutes a "dragon-slaying team"?
These teams are primarily tasked with seeking out Legendary-ranked dragons with established lairs, although more often than not, they only encounter minor dragons of average strength. The lairs of these colossal dragons are typically well-concealed, often coinciding with their hunting grounds. Dragon-slaying teams often spend extended periods in these locations, with the chance of encountering and successfully defeating a dragon being uncertain.
However, Prince William has recently ventured out and returned within a few hours with the body of a frost dragon, earning the envy of others.
Yet William chooses not to disclose that if your team has two individuals with a luck value exceeding 500, encountering even ordinary dragons would not be a problem!
It's evident that his luck value is exceptionally high.
…
Time passes swiftly.
William doesn't immediately seek the queen's assistance to heal his wounds, likely due to his time constraints. Nevertheless, his status as the Black Leaf Elf Prince shines through. William the prince's handsome and endearing demeanor elicits maternal affection from many female Elves.
There seems to be no way out of this situation. After all, he is still a young child.
One Legendary female magician takes the initiative to help him with his unique physical issues and inquires if he requires further assistance.
William is, indeed, a charming and lovable child. The fact that such a young child can claim to have slain a dragon is nothing short of astonishing.
However, his Highness isn't seeking anything more. He merely hopes to temporarily utilize the teleportation array to evade potential dangers and return home directly.
To this end, the Legendary leader readily agrees, given that the portals of the three Elves have been continuously open since the covenant was established. There is no possibility of them closing in the near future.
As for Olaf, he lingers for a while but eventually makes his way home on his own. As for William's proposal to join Dawn City, he decides to reconsider.
…
Next, they embark on another thrilling teleportation journey.
As their bodies twist and fold, the space tunnel creates the illusion of time stagnation, transporting them from the northernmost part of the Legendary continent to its southernmost part.
Upon emerging from the portal, the five individuals and their horse nearly collapse to the ground.
Among them, Burned Cinder sits on the ground, feeling dizzy and seeing stars. He mumbles after some time, "This is the worst space tunnel experience I've ever had. It's dreadful."
Old Leather takes a few deep breaths and is the first to recover among the group. He provides a scientific explanation, stating that space tunnels indeed create the illusion of distorted time, especially over long distances, which can be potentially fatal for ordinary individuals.
"It makes sense. Old Leather, what were you doing in the Red Fire Kingdom before? You seem quite knowledgeable," asks a Black Leaf Elf guard.
Another guard interjects, "It's not what you think. The space tunnel has only recently been opened, and the space is not yet stable. Waiting a few more days should alleviate this dizziness."
Old Leather glances at Burned Cinder and decides to remain silent.
The prince stands upright and instructs the others, "Let's return to Dawn City. I will report the task to the Elf King and then head home."
"Understood!"
"By the way, you requested Alec's intelligence department to focus all their efforts on the Emerald Grand Duchy and Lan Yu Grand Duchy. Within three months, I want all the vampires in those two duchies captured."
"Understood." They nod and enter the portal, heading straight for the City of Dawn.
William seeks out the Black Leaf Elf King and reports the successful completion of the task. In truth, reporting isn't entirely necessary, but he primarily wishes to boost his reputation.
He has decided that when it comes to the matter of the Elf throne, as the Elf Prince, he will make regular appearances before the Elf King. He contemplates whether the Elf King is akin to a grandfather figure, making it reasonable to express concern for his Health Point.
This filial son is determined to make a decision.
