Chapter 365: The Hunt for the White Dragon

"Where can we find a white dragon?" Olaf asked, excited about the prospect of slaying a dragon.

William, with a hint of mischief, replied, "We'll ask the local Snow Elves. They should know where the white dragons are."

The group made their way to the nearby Snow Elf settlement, where they inquired about the whereabouts of white dragons. The Snow Elves, upon learning that William was the Prince of the Black Leaf Elves, readily provided information about six locations where white dragons could be found.

However, some of these locations were located in remote and dangerous areas, such as icebergs in the far north, inhabited by Behemoth and frost giants. William decided to avoid these treacherous locations.

Instead, he chose to investigate two locations within the Frost Forest, and it was Princess Annie who made the final decision. She suggested heading to the area near the ice lake, where rumors suggested that ice dragons often frequented. They hoped to find traces of the white dragon there

.

With their destination set, William prepared to confront the white dragon. He retrieved an oversized Heavy Crossbow and three specially crafted, rune-engraved heavy arrows from his inventory. He handed the heavy crossbow to Olaf, instructing him to handle it, while he assigned Legolas the responsibility of aiming and firing the enchanted arrows.

The heavy crossbow and arrows were designed specifically for dragon hunting. The arrows had various effects, including breaking magic, penetrating defenses, causing bleeding, and ensuring penetration. Chains were attached to the arrows to restrict the dragon's movement or escape.

Armed with these potent weapons, they concealed themselves in the snowy terrain near the ice lake, patiently waiting for the white dragon to appear.

They watched as large frost giant bears used their claws to break through the ice and plunge into the cold lake to catch fish. These bears were clearly accustomed to the dangers of the area, as they quickly returned to the surface, their prey held firmly in their jaws. However, their icy surroundings had not harmed them; their bodies remained frozen but intact.

As they observed this spectacle, the group noticed that the bears had been frozen by the breath of an ice dragon, a clear indication that a white dragon was nearby.

They continued to watch as the ice dragon emerged from the forest and landed on the ice near the lake. The massive dragon had scales that glistened like mirrors and wings that blotted out the sun. It did not flap its wings but moved swiftly nonetheless. The dragon, with two of the frozen bears at its feet, seemed focused on consuming its catch.

Despite its presence, the dragon did not appear overly concerned about potential threats. After briefly inspecting its surroundings, it turned its attention back to the bears, ready to feast on the frozen prey.

William noted that the dragon's legend-level details revealed it to be a young Frost Dragon. He had anticipated the dragon's appearance, but now they had to formulate a plan to engage it.

However, the group was cautious, knowing that even a young dragon presented a formidable challenge. They needed to strike carefully to maximize their chances of success.

After casting a quick glance at the others, William remarked, "It's a young dragon, almost an adult, but it's still agile. Everyone, be prepared."

This was all happening before reaching level 100 .

To clarify, the levels ranged from 10 (beginner) to 100 (expert). On average, each step forward equated to 30 levels, but it changed once you reached level 100 . From there, it took 40 levels to advance further. To become a Legendary Professional, you needed to reach at least level 220.

The leveling process was not just challenging, but also varied for each individual. Some players would grit their teeth and repeatedly complete tasks to break into the master tier. However, aspiring to reach epic and Legendary levels was a different story. The difficulty of the tasks was almost insurmountable.

In this scenario, players had only two choices. First, they could borrow equipment from wealthier players to complete the leveling task, forming an industry chain in the later stages of the game. Second, they could give up on leveling and focus on enhancing their characters' skills and exploring other professions, provided they had the patience to grind up to level 300 .

As William once put it, many non-player characters (NPCs) who couldn't break the level cap continued to improve their physical attributes, much like Elves with high-level Bloodlines. While they couldn't advance in levels, they could still enhance their physical qualities, similar to players.

This phenomenon became more prevalent as the game progressed. With enough time, even an Epic Level old immortal could compete with Legendary figures.

"Now, what's the plan for dealing with this dragon?" someone asked.

William replied, "No, we have to wait. I'll go to the ice and try to steal its frozen bear. I don't believe the white dragon can resist stolen food. Legolas, get the crossbow and arrows ready. If it attacks me, shoot immediately."

William smirked. The white dragon had a tendency to ambush its prey from water, snow, or high altitudes. However, it was precisely what his highness feared the most.

There was no way out.

The white dragon had thick skin, and despite the significant difference in life Points compared to the frost dragon, it was still a Legendary boss. Even if the white dragon suspected a trap, William would roast and eat the frozen bear right in front of it. He was confident that the white dragon couldn't resist.
