Chapter 6 - Chapter 1 – A Princess? Am I? – (5/7)

Her upper body was stiff and rigid. Her hands were swimming forward like they were cutting through a bush, and her body was playing up and down, centered on her abdomen.

Her speed slowed to a crawl, then a walk. Her stride narrowed.

It was like she was flailing in the air. It was embarrassing to watch. It was a good thing there was no one here to laugh at her.

Her body wasn't strong enough to run back to back. At this conclusion, she couldn't bring herself to scream out in anger. She kept her anger inward.

My God, only 8 kilometers per hour! She wasn't running 30 or 40 kilometers per hour like a sprinter, or even 16 or 17 kilometers per hour like a marathoner.

8 kilometers per hour! That's not running, that's power walking!

And I couldn't hold it together and walk? Not for three minutes, not for 30 seconds?

It's her body now. This pathetic feeling was hers too.

Kalia agonized. This body was 'broken' before it was 'good' or 'bad'.

Even modern people, especially students and office workers, who suffer from lack of exercise, were healthier than this body.

Kalia was a teenager. Children this age usually have unlimited stamina. A child should be able to play catch with an adult and still be able to laugh, scream, chase and catch them all.

Three days of running had made that clear. Kalia's body was a mess. In fact, she knew it from day one. She'd run for three days just for the potential.

She was 145 centimeters tall. That's a lot for a 10-year-old girl. The power of her genes was really strong.

But she weighed only 28 kilograms. She was taller than average and weighed less than average.

This was a serious problem. At this rate, it wasn't just a matter of low muscle mass and low fitness. There were all kinds of health problems....

Kallia knew, those health problems could be solved by magic! But she couldn't understand taking severe underweight for granted when she could always use the help of advanced medicine.

Kallia knew, those health problems could be solved by magic! But the help of advanced medicine was no excuse for being seriously underweight.

'Flexibility terrible, stamina terrible, strength terrible, coordination terrible. So everything is terrible except my natural flexibility by my young age. If I do strength training wrong, I'll lose blood flow and collapse.'

If she collapsed now, all her work would be for naught. Her parents couldn't leave her alone after she collapsed while running. They'd wrap her in a blanket and nail her to the bed.

Even now, their eyes were sharp as they watched her run. At any moment, at the slightest hint of trouble, they would lock her in her room.

Fortunately, Kalia had learned how to exercise without destroying her body through both knowledge and practice. She was at the top of her game in the field of exercise and had been taught by renowned masters in biomechanics and medicine.

This knowledge gave her confidence that her memories of her time on Earth were not delusional or psychotic. The exercises she remembered all reliably stimulated the areas she remembered.

She felt alive when she spread her legs and released her iliopsoas muscle, along with the idea that 'Park Hana' was real.

But a healthy body isn't built on exercise alone. So Kalia increased her diet. With the semi-threat of passing out from hunger if she didn't eat.

She wasn't overeating; her skinny body wasn't going to gain muscle from a drastic increase in food intake.

Kalia came up with a baseline calorie count that took into account her height and weight, weighted by the fact that she was in a growth spurt. From there, she gradually increased her carbs and protein.

Surprisingly, the meals she was eating were just a few calories short of her calculated baseline.

In total, she was barely able to survive and grow without expending energy through exercise and other activities. They had their own calculations.

These people were not without knowledge. They just used it in strange ways.

Kalia was very formal when she ate, much more so than her peers.

It was a way to reassure her parents, but it was also important for her future life as Kalia.

There were all kinds of worries and concerns about the 10 percent increase in her food intake, and she didn't know what kind of pressure she would be under if she started to deviate from etiquette.

The Grand Duke, despite being a doting father, wanted to avoid a situation where his noble daughter was seen as lacking manners, for the sake of her future.

Luckily, her body remembered table manners and graceful demeanor just as well as her speech. She could leave this part to her subconscious.

Even though she couldn't run properly, she was able to hold four or five forks and knives correctly for different purposes and eat at the perfect angle.

"Lady. Where did you learn all that gymnastics, did you see it in a book?"

"No, I just move my stubborn parts as I think of them."

She couldn't say "from Korea.". A quick search of Kalia's memory didn't turn up any books of that sort, so she played it cool. Luckily, it worked.

I would have been suspicious if she'd repeated a standard gymnastics routine with perfect movements, but she's not capable of that now.

Even though everyone else saw her every day, she performed each move slightly differently and somewhat sloppily. It was believable if she said she was just going by feel.

Melan, who was expecting to be criticized for not having the decency to do gymnastics in her room, instead watched with interest as Kalia did her exercises. By the third day, Melan began to follow along.

Dynamic stretching before a workout raises body temperature, increases flexibility and joint range of motion, and prevents injury.

This was useful for Melan, who is middle-aged. She had a lot of paperwork to do. Gymnastics loosened up his stiff muscles and reduced a lot of his stiffness.
