The system created by the academy, backed by all the ducal houses, generated fierce competition among the students. If they wanted to have a better life, they had to stand out among the others. However, it was evident that this system was extremely unequal for lower-class students. In the interval of 150 to 200, students received 10,000 points, and every month they received a small commission of an additional 500 points. The other students received nothing more; after all, these were the rules established by the academy.
