In the morning Tess woke up, she thought she had a bad dream until she saw herself on the couch in Katie's living room and realized it was not a dream. Fred had dumped her and the worst part, he did it on the phone.
'Maybe I should give him a call and apologize, maybe he might come back' she thought as she reached out to her phone, she tried calling his number again, but no response. She got off the couch, took her bath, and got ready for work. Katie was also getting ready to leave for work.
"Here, take this" Katie said as she handed Tess her home spare key, "don't stress it, take your time everything will be alright" she added, Tess hugged her again as she left for work.

On getting to work, Katie noticed the flow of customers wasn't as busy as yesterday, "thank goodness, today isn't busy like yesterday" she said to herself, she got a minute or two to relax and reflect on the event that took place yesterday and reached out for her phone to call Katie.
"Uh-um hello, Katie I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me, you're really an angel" Tess said.
"Don't mention it, I'm happy to help, hey, I called Mr. Smith and told him you want to get your stuff back and he totally agreed" Katie said on the phone.
"He's coming over today to open up the place" she said, "so after work, you should head there immediately" she added.
"Alright, I will, thanks again" Tess replies "Yeah, take care" Kate replies as she ends the call.
'I need to get him back, yes, I'll look for him, but where?' she thought to herself, 'I don't even know where he works, maybe I am not the girl he needs, what kind of girlfriend doesn't know where her boyfriend works' she added, she tries to hold a strong face but now and then a tear will drop from her eyes as she tries to put herself together.
Her manager noticed she wasn't herself and decided to send her home for the day.

At her former apartment, Tess waits patiently for the landlord to arrive. A few hours pass and she sees Mr. Smith coming.
"Thank you so much for coming sir, I really appreciate it" she said taking a slight bow, "Here's the key, when you're done, just leave it under the door mat and I'll come to pick it up later" Mr. Smith said as he handed her a key and walks away.
When Tess entered the room, she noticed the place was nearly empty, she went to the bedroom, opened the closet, and saw her stuff there, she packed her stuff and was ready to head back to Kate's room. As she closed the door, she felt she was closing a chapter of her life which was sad but she had to move on.
Two months passed, Tess is at work and she notices a familiar person walking into the café, it was Stan. "Oh no, what is he doing here?" Tess said as she notices Stan walking up to a table and taking a seat.
As Stan spots her, he immediately waves to her, calling her over. 'This cannot be happening oh my God why is he here?' she thought.
"Uh-um, hello how may I help you sir?" she asks as she approaches his table, "You didn't call me, I got tired of expecting your call, so I came over and why are you calling me "sir", don't act like you don't remember my name" he replies as he gave her a serious look, she tries to smile at him but it just wasn't happening.
"I'm sorry for not calling, it has been a tough time for me" she replies emotionally as she tries not to cry in front of him but it is already late. Stan saw the tears gathering in her eye.
"It looks like you need to talk, take a break, and let's get out of here" he said as he smiled at her.
"You don't need to worry about me, I'm alright" she replies giving him a gentle smile, but he wasn't taking no for an answer.
"Clearly you're not, you don't need to lie to me" he replies calmly, "if you don't ask your manager for time off, I will" he added, she had no choice but to go to her manager and he gave her the day off. As she walked out of the cafe with Stan, she felt a bit of relief. It's been more than two months and she still feels hurt whenever she thinks of Fred, maybe spending some time with Stan will help her get better.
