Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Mrs. Anna seemed eager to have a conversation. But just as they were about to talk, Mr. Anderson's urgent call interrupted the moment. He quickly answered the call, saying, "I'm coming," before hanging up abruptly. Turning to me, he explained that he had an urgent meeting and gave his mother a peck on the head before leaving.

Feeling a mix of surprise and disappointment, I wanted to make my exit. However, Mrs. Anna, clearly agitated, grabbed my hand tightly, preventing me from leaving. With a stern tone, she warned me to stay away from her son, emphasizing that I was just an ordinary maid. Her words stung, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of rejection.

Feeling sad and defeated after the encounter with Mrs anna, I retreated to my room and sank into a chair. But my moment of solitude was abruptly interrupted by Ella barging in, demanding that I fetch her cream from the mall. Despite the late hour and the pouring rain, she showed no concern for my well-being.

Reluctantly, I voiced my concerns about the time and the weather, hoping to reason with her. But Ella's response was dismissive and commanding, throwing her card at me as if my objections were of no consequence. Resigned to my fate, I changed into suitable attire and grabbed an umbrella before ordering a cab.

As I arrived at the mall and completed the task, a sense of relief washed over me. However, my relief was short-lived when I realized that the cab had already departed, leaving me stranded. Frustration mounted as I attempted to order another cab, only to find that there was no network connection on my phone.

Anxiety began to creep in as I glanced at the time, realizing it was already midnight. The road stretched out before me, desolate and eerie. Feeling vulnerable and cold, I made a desperate decision to reach out to Mr. Anderson for help.

Dialing his number, I heard his voice on the other end, filled with concern. I explained my situation, expressing my discomfort and the loneliness of the surroundings. Mr. Anderson wasted no time, requesting my location and assuring me that he was on his way.

As I stood there, waiting anxiously, my eyes caught sight of a group of men in the distance. My heart skipped a beat, and a sense of unease washed over me. I hoped and prayed that Mr. Anderson would arrive soon to ensure my safety.

As the group of men approached me, fear gripped my heart, causing my legs to tremble uncontrollably. One of them, with a sly grin on his face, called out to me, "What are you doing alone here, beautiful?" My voice caught in my throat, rendering me unable to respond. I remained silent, my body quivering with a mix of terror and anticipation.

Their laughter echoed in the empty street, mocking my silence. "Looks like the cat's got your tongue," one of them sneered, his voice dripping with malice. Suddenly, the man closest to me angrily snatched the umbrella that had been shielding me from the rain and callously tossed it aside. The heavens opened up, and the rain poured down upon me, drenching me to the bone.

In a panic, I attempted to flee from their clutches, but before I could take a single step, one of the men forcefully grabbed my arm, yanking me back. I braced myself for the impending blow, my heart racing in my chest. But just as his hand was about to connect with my face, a bright beam of light pierced through the darkness, illuminating our surroundings.

We turned our heads in unison, our eyes widening in surprise and relief. It was Mr. Anderson, stepping out of his car with a determined expression on his face. His presence alone seemed to command authority, and the men instinctively took a step back, their bravado fading away.

At that moment, I felt a glimmer of hope ignited within me. Mr. Anderson had come to my rescue, a knight in shining armor. His protective stance and unwavering gaze sent a clear message to the men that their actions would not go unpunished.

Taking advantage of the distraction, I seized the opportunity to break free from the man's grip. With adrenaline coursing through my veins, I sprinted towards Mr. Anderson, seeking refuge and safety in his presence. He extended a reassuring hand, guiding me towards the safety of his car.

As we drove away from that treacherous scene, my heart slowly began to calm, and a sense of gratitude washed over me.

As we were on our way home, a sudden sneeze escaped from me, causing Mr. Anderson to abruptly stop the car. Concern filled his eyes as he looked at me, asking if I was okay and if anyone had hurt me. I shook my head, assuring him that I was fine.

In a protective gesture, he swiftly removed his suit jacket and draped it over my body, ensuring that I felt safe and warm. My heart began to race as his actions showed a level of care and consideration that I had never experienced before. He then helped me tighten my seat belt, making sure that I was secure.

"I will always protect you, Chloe. Don't be afraid," Mr. Anderson reassured me, his voice filled with sincerity. His touch on my hair, gently tucking it behind my ear, sent a wave of comfort through me. With a sense of security restored, he started the car, and we continued our journey home.

At that moment, I couldn't help but feel a deep connection forming between us. His actions spoke louder than words, and I knew that he genuinely cared for my well-being. As we drove, a mixture of emotions swirled within me - gratitude, trust, and a growing sense of affection.

The drive home seemed to be filled with an unspoken understanding between us. It was as if we were building a foundation of trust and support, where I could rely on him to keep me safe. The warmth of his suit jacket wrapped around me served as a physical reminder of his promise to protect me.

As we approached our destination, I couldn't help but reflect on the incredible bond that was forming between Mr. Anderson and me.

As we arrived home, Mr. Anderson gently opened the car door for me, his hand reaching out to hold mine. My heart raced with excitement and anticipation as we made our way inside the house.

As Mr Anderson guides me through the familiar hallways, his touch on my hands provides a steady reassurance. Each step we took together deepened the connection between us. As we entered the living room we bumped into Ella and Mrs Anna and my eyes widened I tried to remove my hand from Anderson but he held me tightly...
